If most of the goods are delivered in roll cages, why do they use so many curtainsiders ffs ?

The roll cages go in curtainsiders. They are re enforced with straps on the inside so the cages can’t bust through. It allows for a far greater payload over a conventional box trailer.

yes mikes right and to be fair if they work quite well as long as they are loaded and strapped properly

yes mikes right and to be fair if they work quite well as long as they are loaded and strapped properly

Fully loaded they dont weigh much over 30 ton gross. Sometimes bit near limit on drive axle as they seem to stack all the weightier stuff at front…in my experience anyway. Would be a lot better in boxes with proper bars across rather than the straps, especially as most of them are either left loose or fixed to the rollcage rather than the side of the trailer!

I think this happens in alot of companies thats got big fleets.
