You just have to laugh

This didn’t happen.
More like another made up " trainer story " that trainers are prone to erm…make up.
5/10 for effort - must try harder.

And why would I do that? Did I gain anything from it?

There again it is a sort of “You couldn’t make it up” story but unfortuantely it is perfectly true and demonstrates what does actually go on out there in ‘driver land’.

I just thought it was a rather amusing incident …

I suppose it’d be different if i was a driver that was on the course and was relaying the story. of course it’d be perfectly true and great then but because I’m not a driver I must therefore be a [zb]

Have to admit it wasn’t as good as your other " story " on the DCPC what do you want from it ? thread…
The ahem " story " of the lad being paid £50 to use his bosses digi card when his own " ran out " :unamused:
I bet that pearler has em rolling in the aisles eh ?

What? You find that hard to believe? Completley true and not a particularly well kept secret either. it’s not a story I would normally use in the classroom … the 5 day tacho chart will be though  That - is a classic.

Story or not, this chap mite have lower iq than average…and mite run rings round you as a driver…i dont think making him the joke was a good thing and him to poke fun at, i wouldnt be making him an example in my classroom…some people shine in other areas.

Well said!

Plenty of typical narrow minded [zb]s that work in the industry in this thread.

There’s an old military saying - “No names, no pack drill”. Nobody has been made a fool of if they haven’t been identified.

I tend to believe you, any fool or brain box can gain a licence ,some just lack common sense my past 27 yr on the road i have heard my fair share of B/S and complete ignorance of the regs.

like the military this industry attracts people from all sorts of backgrounds

maybe shep can get hold of one of these charts and mask of the the writing and put a scan of the trace on here.

on the other hand the lad might have been bored and was taking the pi$$ all along or for a bet

To be honest some of the ex military lads especially anyone who was involved with tanks only take their class one to cover them on the weight issues of the larger main battle tanks whilst on the public highway. ( your “h” licence covers anything from a bobcat to a challenger) I don’t know the ins and outs but some of the guys and girls will only have driven a truck + trailer on their test. Then never again.

I did my class 1 & 2 in Germany on a wagon and drag with palm couplings on, if it wasn’t for a friend of mine helping me out with hooking up an artic when I got out I still wouldn’t have a clue. He also pointed me in the right direction as regards to drivers hrs and tachos . ok I would have probably worked it out eventually.
What I’m trying to say is not everyone has someone they can ask without feeling like a knob so they don’t ask.
