You can stick it

Crick are these 45 min commutes I’ve been yawping about Krankee, but thanks for thinking  .

Best of luck in your search.

Just don’t take the piano along to the interviews! :open_mouth:

Aye, best of luck with the search Libbo.

There’s a temp who’s down at our place often but like you say it’s been quiet and I ain’t seen him this new year. He runs his own agency. I’ll have a word with him to see if there’s owt goin’ when I bump into him again but wouldn’t hold my breath.

He used to work for an agency until he had a bust up. (Sound familiar?) He’d been with them years as well. Anyway, from that point on he decided to go it alone and has never looked back.

Got his nose in a few companies, worked hard and reliably and they kept asking him back until he had to take extra lads on to do all the work he was getting. When he does a job now he gets the agency cut as well :exclamation:

The funny thing (for me) is that I would love to be havin’ a hol like you atm  Didn’t get anything at all over crimble. It was my choice so I shouldn’t grumble grumble grumble moan moan

Anyway, best wishes.

Silver_Surfer:
Steve 24V why don’t you apply at Tesco Magor? Sounds like good money for easy work?

Took your advice…

Job done, start monday

Cheers…

Booked through a different part of the agency to start at Walkers Sunday  . Meantime I’ll see what the rest of the employment world’s doing.

Hey liberace…i heard that walkers drivers are the salt of the earth after a good shake…

Well If there’s an 80 to 90k shortageof drivers in this country, surely there must be plenty work out there■■? I have no problems with Driverhire, and luckily I’m with one of the busiest branches in the country, ok the money is crap but its varied and I can take it or leave it. As for hours, I dont mind when I start work, so long as there is enough time to adjust and get enough sleep.

take it easy out there.

What driver shortage? I have got fed up with getting no work from the agencies, I have only had one full week since the middle of November, so I have been ringing round and sending out applications. So far 2 applications sent and no response 3 other firms emailed and only one reply. He said he had thirty to forty drivers on his waiting list. In this weeks local press only 2 LGV vacancies and both of them would mean a 40 min commute. Think I will have to move to the Midlands where all the work seems to be.

Laura Ashley.
TDG.
GM2.
MTS Distribution.
Tawney Transport and Distribution.
Possibley Leicester Heavy Haulage, undecided (doesn’t really float my boat, don’t really want nights out, but still).

leicester heavy where advertising in the local rag for drivers a couple of weeks back. tdg don’t run many of there own trucks out of bardon its mainly outside contractors.
have a look at hays on bardon ind est i hear they pay good money and its day work mate
if you don’t mind traveling to ashby the dairy are taking on i think.

best of look
jon

Thanks Jon, I’ve worked for Hays before and had an erm “disagreement” with them about a run I was asked to do so that’s out (burnt bridges and all that). I might just have a look at Leicester heavy though, but Laura Ashly have the Glasgow trunk I used to do free and are looking for someone. That’s the only night out I would do (on a secure industrial estate with cafe :open_mouth: where you can actually get some sleep). Having said that, the crisp merchants are taking on in the near future, so I might just stick around here for that  .

MRS are always running an advert, and I think Swainys have opened a place in Coalville, might be run from Swad though
