My reply: under a fake name, which is awaiting moderation, without a doubt it’s unlikely to be approved
Firstly I am utterly dismayed at the reaction yourself has taken, not only is this completely irrelevant, as firstly lorry drivers by law are required to stop for breaks at either 6 hours (for working time) or 4.5 hours driving, so what I believe you and your fellow representatives of the council are actually doing, is encouraging drivers to continue driving tired, however im sure once a member of your constituency is killed or seriously injured, your approach on this matter may change.
In relation to this, it is the council’s job to provide appropriate parking facilities, which you obviously you have not facilitated, since lorry drivers are being forced to park at this current spot.
In regards to dangerous, this is vastly disproportionate claims, and a good driver should be able to plan ahead on the road and take appropriate actions to overcome the obstable here.
In addition the road looks like plenty of room for any vehicles to pass.
I believe you may reconsider this campaign, as im sure once businesses are forced to migrate due to council stance on its trading rights, your constituents will be very displeased with a decrease in job figures in your region, in addition to any costs which your local shops etc receive due to the lorry driver’s on premise.
Lastly, it is unfair for reports to VOSA to be made, especially when a politician makes a mistake it is very easily overcome and played down as minor, however when a lorry driver as such makes one, you attempt to sabotage people’s livelihood’s.
I believe that you should act in the best interest of your region, not simply a minority which do not understand the working constraints under the career as a HGV Lorry driver. It would be advised working with people is more advisable than demanding, True leaders lead from the front, not dictate.
