Thinking of doing M62, A650, Bradford ringroad, A650, A629, A65 through to Kendal.
Is it OK, and is it reasonably fast (as opposed to painfully slow)?

Stamford. Usually go through Melton to East Mids airport and A50, but hate the road from Melton to Kegworth. It seems to go on forever.
I would probably go Melton Mowbray, Kegworth, A50 Stoke M6 ■■?
When i go to Ketton i do that way in reverse
A43, A14, M6 ■■

I’d rather avoid Birmingham, not allowed to use the M6 toll. Just fancy something different providing it’s as quick as Melton way.

Know what your saying if it was me and was wanting to go that way i think i’d go up the A1 to the M62 onto the M61 then M6 never done the way you have asked in a truck but it might be a good run especially overnight bet it’ll be busy during the day mate

Doubt it’ll be that busy, every f00ker will be behind me.

Lol
I think by the time you’ve f00ked about around the Bratford ringroad you could be down windy hill and on the M61
Bradford is dark 24 hours a day unless you particularly want to try that way.
You could consider A1 then M62 to J26, then A58 to Hipperholme, turn right
onto A644 through Queensbury, watch for the left at the lights past the farm
shop join A629 for Keighley and onto Skipton and A65.
a1 m62 m61 m6 fastest route and most economical
Ive seen the M62 queue backing up on windy ridge on a monday morning and it queues all the way to J12 from J20 plus if you do get up to speed the speed cameras do work!
Quickest - theoretically - is A1 to Ferrybridge then M62, M61, M6, but it depends what time you’ll be on the M62 as that may ruin your plans. Shortest (by 33 miles) is same route to M62 J27 then A650 and across Bradford onto Aire Valley bypass and A65, but realistically once you’re off the end of the bypass at Cross Hills you won’t get much above 40 all the way to the M6 as that’s about the max that cars will drive at along there (unless it’s the middle of the night).

I’ll be around J27 by about 8:30 am all going well. Done it on my Sat Nav at its suggesting go across the A66 > A685 at 3hr 40mins, as opposed to A650 route at 4hr 10mins, but I know if there’s no hold up I always shave time off A roads.

A685 is banned to trucks so forget that. If you’re going to be 0830 at J27 then you’ll cop for all the traffic going into and around Bradford and Shipley. Depends whether you want the hassle tbh. If you’re preferring a relaxing run then stay on the M62 but expect it to be slow moving from J28 to J26 and it may be slow going from J21/20 too. Keep your eyes peeled on google traffic for accidents on the M62 before you get to J27 as that may swing your decision.
What Carl said, and driving through Bradford is usually painfully slow and tedious. Keep up to date with traffic info as to the M62, as has been said.

From M62 to A65 is usually fairly congested. A65 is winding, up and down, narrow and as has been said the general speed of cars is 40 or 50 mph, very few chances to overtake (even in a car) so I’d vote for M62/M61/M6.
