Down south, one runs into Hatfield hub.
Depending upon your start location, it can either be a cushy number, or rather dull. The depots running in that do a double run seem to have been the best in my experience, as you’ll get 10+hours on it, compared to single run depots that barely get the flat 8.
You take your break, re-fuel, and submit your timesheets at the hub.

as for the driver, he’s still got a job, but he’s in a bad way in hospital from what iv’e been told…

Looking at the pic I would say he was prob an o/d, or, as they now call them, a service provider
Lot of subbies. Last time I had something delivered by a yodel chap he was in a plain white ducato.
Last thing I had delivered was by someone resembling a tramp in an S reg rust bucket Mondeo on a Sunday morning.
Try www.trustpilot.com and read the customers reports about deliveries. A very thick skin and tin hat are standard PPE.
