Dear gazsa401, Bulgaria is arresting Afghans on a daily basis. Arresting them on both ends when they try to sneak in or out of the country heading your way. We also have one of the most secure border, despite the mountains and forests, over 1000 cops are on the border and some military personal.
Today 16 illegals with no paper claiming to be Afghans were arrested in Burgas, left by their smuggler.
In Friday 79 illegals were arrested in Sofia, 68 of whom claim to be from Afghanistan with of course no paper in hostels and apartments.
Last Thursday 53 were arrested near the border, 1 was shot dead, all man in their 20’s , all heading West.
Every week a lorry with illegals is being captured.

All are arrested and put in refugee “prison” camp for fingerprinting, identity check, terrorist affiliation check etc. Some will receive refugee status which will allow them to stay in Bulgaria, they can not travel or work in other country then Bulgaria, so no worry there. Once proceeded here if they sneak in EU, they will be deported back here. All others who don’t receive status will be send back.

P.S. Maybe when Germany, France and UK stop being so soft on illegals and start deporting them, stop giving them work and benefits they will stop coming.

I dont understand why people from Afghany are implied somehow less deserving than bulgari/polish/romanians.

We should remember we have fought 4 (failed) wars in Afghany in last 250 years . many of the Afghans who are in France now actually worked for our troops as interpreters , medics , cooks and domestics .

They were abandoned in the same way we abandon Samoan and Nepalese once their commission has ended

These Afghany ARE exactly they type of people who we SHOULD give asylum to …

Deport all Bulgarians/Polish and Romanians, start with the doctors, dentists, nurses and caretakers first and continue with engineers and finish with builders, agricultural workers and car washers.

P.P.P.S Since last night 58 illegals claiming to be from Iraq and Afghanistan were arrested including 6 Bulgarian drivers in Burgas province, close to the border with Turkey. All illegals are being interrogated then will be send to refugee camp near Elhovo for processing , the Bulgarians remain in custody charged with human smuggling.

From 01.01.2015 to 01.10.2015 - 21 743 illegals were arrested trying to enter Bulgaria(and EU) according to Ministry of Interior.

Interesting news that came out yesterday.
Hunting party caught 50 illegals. Saturday morning a hunting party of 19 and dogs caught 50 illegals in Strandzha mountain in Bulgaria, very close to the border with Turkey. All illegals were men, well dressed(sport clothing Nike, Adidas etc.), some of them with tablets and GPS so they dont get lost in the mountains. Of course all of them had no ID papers what so ever and claim to be Afghani heading west to Austria, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and UK.

They all travel without ID so they can claim being Syrian or Afghani, countries in wars so to speak. For me is clear - come illegally and you will be deported, you want to claim refugee status, well that’s should have never happen, why BG authorities allowed it is beyond me. We have no border with Syria or Afghanistan, the first safety country they reach is Turkey or Greece or Jordan, they should be send back.
A country laws must be respected and followed. They cross many safe countries before ending their trip in Western EU, well this is idiotic, they are clearly economic illegal aliens(like this US word for illegals) and should be deported.
But, major But, Western EU countries doesn’t send clear cut message - Germany welcomes them, Netherlands, Belgium and the Scandinavian countries are soft touch. Even United Kingdom is very soft, even though is not in Schengen, people are hardly deported, detention centers like hotels, private limos and jets to be used…English language and no ID cards system make it easier to live below the grid, especially in muslim neighborhoods etc.
I cant do anything in Bulgaria without ID card, which by law I must have on me all the time, like driving licence in UK, but the ID is mandatory for everyone.

How come Italy issues them visas? In Bulgaria if refugee status is granted the refugee can not leave the country if not specifically allow, can not live in address different then the one Government agree them to live at. Heck, they cant even go and work in EU once they get status. They get Refugee ID card, can work and live only here until they become BG citizens(it takes 8 years for refugees).
Maybe that’s one of the many reason combined with being poor country that they avoid us, compared to Italy, Greece, France.

P.S. We are accepting refugees under UN law :unamused:
