Arrested why? Unless he ignored a weight or width restriction what’s the grounds for arrest? Even if he ignored a weight restriction that’s still hardly an arrestable offence is it? Damage occurred so what. Exchange insurance details and be on your way after recovery.
+1,i did wonder myself, its not as if the driver could do a runner,as you say just a straight insurance jobbie
Il bet he’s followed his sat nav going to thetford or that way came of the 14 seen the weight limit sign gone around the and missed the turn back for the 14

To be fair though don’t see how this lad could push on past the point of no return and end up like he has, unless maybe he is a brand new Driver, with zero experience, which is possible.
The article says the driver was 23, so quite possibly a Newbie that clearly has an awful lot to learn about spatial awareness!

I reckon the flip flops do pretty well overall, miles better than i would trying to get around where they come from in an artic.
Flip flops?? Would this be yet another term detriment to foreign drivers? If so what is it with racism on this forum
theres not enough of it…get a life saddo, flipflops,Taliban, cabbage eaters, who cares, just a term of endearment to our ee jockeys…scousers to me seems to be a really derogatory description yet ive still to find one that dislikes the term(and I know what it originates from )… the fact he is a flipflop will mean obviously he is foreign…if he has no uk address, then he can be arrested and taken to court the next day with the truck parked up once its recovered…ive got off with speeding a good few times by showing my irish licence when in the uk as by rights plod should arrest me and not just give me the fixed penalty, once you tell the court office your not giving them your licence,it ends up top plod from whatever station calls you to tell you to bin the ticket as you should have been arrested as your classed as a foreigner.some of the traffic plod are wise to this fact, but the normal woodentop isn’t usually clued in.
I can assure you i have extremely thick skin and am used to more colourful language than anything you could possibly throw at me/anything heard at the average Brit truck stop, ex military (Special Air Service 22Rgt B Squadron) saw to that! I just dont understand why anyone would resort to name calling on a public forum thats all.
