Speed cameras on the M1 between junction 28 and the M1 are live.

Driver caught 5 times near tibshelf banned.
Good enough for him.
Bet he felt like a right smart ■■■ speeding past everyone else thinking to himself how these cameras are just for show.
Who’s laughing now, clever ■■■■
Just read this, why was a victim surcharge imposed, he got caught speeding who is the victim
They just add it each time your in court. I paid £30 surcharge a few years back for speeding.
I’m more interested in knowing how someone who lives in an area of Hull where once upon a time they used to advertise “House for sale, will swap for family car” is able to afford a Merc.
He obviously swapped his house - probably had a conservatory that’s why he ended up with a merc and not a mondeo. !
The market for large cars has dropped to next to zero of late, can pick one up for song nowadays

The “victim” is the rest of us gnashing their teeth seeing idiots like this apparently getting away with it again.
Replacing those gnashed-down teeth costs… Hence the “surcharge”.
I believe the briefing on this kind of offence was written down a few yonks ago too…
The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 24:50-51).
Don’t we just all want to see the buggers who’ve got away with it for so long - get busted en-masse?
The gantry cameras or those yellow average speed ones? I know the average speed ones work, spoke to a women in Southampton who got done for doing 60mph in the M3 roadworks at 2am. She wasn’t best pleased mind you.
Not upto 55mph they don’t
I was driving through the centre of London last night just after the Westway on the 501 and some berk in a merc came zooming past. Took about 20 seconds for karma to kick in and flash him.
I’d like to know the thinking behind such people. Do they think the cameras don’t work. Do they think the flash is so they can feel like a rally driver being photographed. Do they just not care about the fines and points.
I don’t get it
Maybe he’s above the law, and therefore the fine will be dropped the moment DVLA confirms the guy’s name is Mustapha Faq…?
Probably a diplomat being London. There’s a sign just before Black Friars Bridge saying Diplomatic Parking Only. The road is dug up at the moment but they’ve kept a few gaps for the special foreigners to park in. Can’t have them walking anywhere, they’re far too important.

heres how it works…
buy a car from the auction ,or even privately…pay for it in cash using whatever name suits you…drive it untaxed and immune from cameras, parking tickets etc…if as and when you get stopped by plod for no tax.( traffic wardens don’t check tax nowadays)…give your ,I just bought it excuse and tax it from the day before you got stopped. if the cars a bin, then let them impound it .no cameras,no tickets, just a bit of dodging once stopped, and saving a fortune on fines and more importantly points.if its worth a few quid, then advertise it on gumtree, print off the advert, delete the advert, and theres your recipt assuming you use a ding payg simcard phone number on the ad…easypeasy,or what?
Surely any accumulated fines would go to the registered keeper ?

That assumes that plod will never ever consider arresting someone on the spot. It’s probably a safe assumption too, if your skin is anything off-white, your accent anything off-British, or your car doesn’t have anything obviously wrong with it (eg. lights working, emissions an Nitric Oxide MOT fail)

See it in the Basingstoke Gazette “in court” plenty of them getting done for exceeding the limit through the roadworks

If only it was that easy

Do they think the flash is so they can feel like a rally driver being photographed.
I know what that is like as I have a few recent pictures taken of me on night rallies.
Ken.
