Yep, that's right, a newbie tacho question!

Righto! I knew it was going to happen at some point!

Shift 1

Crossed Hammers - 0600
Much fannying and driving through the day
Bed - 1859
Eject card - 1900

Then I go home, come in the next morning

Shift 2

Start at 0600 - will I need to do a manual entry, or not, since I’ve not done anything in between?

I would’nt bother as you have been on rest…

No need in the scenario you describe, but if you’re still learning how to do manual entries it might be worth doing it just for the practice.
At my gig I have to do them and use the ‘?’ symbol to denote my rest period, as I think it them makes it easy for the office to see the difference between that and Break.

Thats what I’ve done since I started driving. All time not used for other work will get denoted on the head unit as the ? symbol. Never had a problem with it.
