Yay, I passed too

Passed cat C yeterday afternoon, yay!

Done several years of 7.5 tonne driving and a good few years on the buses too (yes, I hated too)

The company I work for are getting bigger trucks and therefore are getting drivers put through their cat C.

I did the training as four hours monday, eight hours tuesday and fours hours wednesday, with my test yesterday, thursday.

The biggest problem I found was the gears, after spending several years driving straight five and six speed boxes, remembering to keep flicking the switch took some getting used to.

The best advice I can give to anyone who is training is to talk to yourself as you change gear so you remember where you are, it worked for me. For example, when in fourth I would say out loud 4 flick switch 5, same when changing down, out loud 5 flick switch 3 etc.

Also a big thank you to all the instructors and staff at Top Gear, Halesowen. They are a great bunch of people to train with and they know a decent cafe near the test centre   .

Talking my way through both my car test as well as the C test helped me pass.

Good for you hun x
