Depending on the specific contract it’s for you’re more likely than not going to have a performance target (pallets per hour) which you’re going to have to start hitting by your 4th week whether it be putaway, loading/unloading, re-stocking etc. unless you’re in one of their own (general) warehouses, don’t know about them but from what I’ve witnessed forklift drivers are kept pretty busy around there, so busy in fact that on occasions I’ve been told to unload pallets using my tail-lift cause the FLT fella is too busy moving their own stuff around.

I read job ( Melton Mowbray ) as transporting
Fork truck ?

Think you’ve got the wrong end of the stick there ETS. I reckon in his own inimitable style that Dozy is referring to the Toyota contract out of Melton Mowbray delivering and collecting fork trucks. If so it’s a cracking job, well paid, one driver per truck with nobody else driving it and it gets parked in our yard when you’re on holiday.

No good for you of course Dozy as you are basically left to sort your own week out and have to adapt, improvise and think on your own two feet, so that pretty much rules you out.

I heard that outfit is it XPO? are looking for fridge drivers in Lincs, but they reckon the new candidate will need a good reference off one of their existing drivers… who will then have that new driver accomanying him for a month tramping.
Might not be true though.

    He’d have a better chance attempting to plait snot!

Now who might be able to give dozy a reference, and then shadow him for a month, The ideal candidate needs to be a fridge driver and be based around said Depot… I await a response… Property be a rude one at that.

Could you imagine spending all day and then sleeping as well, bunk buddies, the mind boggles
For someone who is in his, lets say latter years and has buckets of experience according to himself he seems to lack major confidence in the field of driving and the industry in it’s self
It’s a prime example of what parks beside you everyday but this might be the exception because it’s hard to believe that someone would have as many stupid questions as asked
Then there’s the other side he could just be acting it for attention and that’s sad

Thanks for the heads up Dozy. Phoned them today, start Monday. £750 pw. Ta
