Well what a year this has been, it didn’t start too well for me after badly breaking my leg in a skiing accident then having to have it operated on, but soon I could climb back in the cab I was back training.
This has been my busiest year probably due to a massive shortage of drivers in the country and building a successful business with hopefully now has a good name.
For you newbies it is probably the best time in a lot of years to undertake your training and to start work in the industry with the positions available (well plenty up here in Yorkshire)
It could be argued since the introduction of auto testing it has never been easier to gain a LGV vocational licence but I still train in the manuals and will to continue for the foreseeable future.
The introduction of laden testing a year or so ago has been a good move, many pupils wouldn’t know there is weight on until the vehicle stops and you feel a gentle swaying movement which is somewhat therapeutic. I must admit I feel safer in strong winds now.
May I wish all members a very merry Xmas and a safe new year.
Kind Regards
Paul
