Xmas do!

That time of year again, no money from the boss towards a night out for his hard working staff. :unamused: :unamused: Don,t be daft :open_mouth:

Last year i didn,t bother ,but this year looks like everybody,s going !

Bound to be punch up ,but like tom jones says " it,s not ā€œunusualā€. :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

We’ve got dinner with all our partners on Friday, and an afternoon clay pigeon shooting. It’s always a good crack, it’s one of the perks of working for a small outfit. We always have secret santa, and swap places in between courses so you can’t just sit in your usual work cliques. If everyone participates it’s a really good laugh, and it’s lovely to put everyone into context outside of work when you meet their other halves.

Mates wife offered our plant manager a ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  in return for a pay rise for said mate, this was 3 years ago. They’ve never been to another one for some reason.
Everything was all paid for so she took full advantage.

Did his wages go up or was it just the plant managers bell end that did?

Usually go to the pub, boss gives me cash for Xmas.
Never did Xmas dos at previous firms as I could only just about work with many people never mind socialise with them.
Never worked where a secret santa has been done and even if I did I’d refuse to take part. If I wanted to waste Ā£5 I’d buy myself a couple of bottles of ditchwater from Shepherd Neame.
And naturally I’ve also dodged a few christmas charity things too.

Niether went anywhere apart from his promotion prospects, they went south.

We went out yesterday drinking, bit of a un-official thing. Just 10 of the drivers (Out of 25) and our manager in the pub from noon until we couldn’t stand basically. Boss got plenty of rounds in and it was a good gathering.

Stevenage’s was last Saturday, except it got cancelled as a fair few were still abroad. There’s a plan for the end of January now, a couple of hundred goes into the kitty from the firm. Salford never have had one, we all live in different directions, whereas Stevenage all live within a few miles.

I take it the other 15 had early starts this morning

We don’t start before 6am. So drinking from 12 till in my case about 9ish pm doesn’t seem like a problem for driving Monday.

It won’t be a problem as long as your clear, but in a 9hr session you can drink a lot of beer etc, and with the average pint containing 2.2 units some may not be as sober as they think

Don’t normally get anything from my place of work, maybe a box of chocolates or something.
But my wife’s works do is on Friday…all paid for + partners,Meal @ Ā£60 per head, free bar, free overnight stay rooms are Ā£150 a night, for those that know it it’s at Crewe Hall bit like a stately home type place, very posh.
Wife handles the accounts and says that the bills is normally around 5-6k once all the bar tabs have been settled, she too works for a small family company…oh and they get a bonus of 10% of their annual salary!!

Mine was Saturday night just gone. Went into the big city (Grantham), due to my excessive power drinking I remember very little of it, except the bloody £40 taxi fare back home! :imp:
