Xf95 night heater

hello does anyone know what model of night heater is fitted in the xf95 i know its an eberspacher airtronic but am unsure as to which model
thank you simon

In the xf its normally the D4, in the cf its normally the d2

depends on the age of the truck

the later XF95 was as Globby said, the D4

if you are wanting glow plugs for it, the best thing to do is remove the existing glow plug and get the part number directly off it and give it to the dealer, they can be a right PITA to get the correct plug as they had different plugs in them

it is a lateish 95 first registered 01/01/2005 and yes its the glow plug i am after it trys to ignite but creates tons of smoke and no fire
simon

d4s glow plug part no from daf is 1740649 if this helps

And make sure you get the box spanner to take the glow plug out And yep its a D4

If it smokes I would suspect fuel pump not glow plug, it must be getting hot if it’s smoking probably not enough fuel to maintain the flame. Also are the exhaust and air inlet hoses in place, if either is missing the amount of air will be incorrect. May be better to get a specialist to look at it.

does the night heater fire up at all if so how long does it run for■■? till it starts to smoke heavy… as it could also be the over heat protector what is at fault
you can buy a service kit for the d4 heaters even of ebay the d4 isnt to hard to work on either the heavy smoke also can be a build up of carbon in the fire box “heat exchange” not allowing correct fuel to be burnt
but ideally need to no first if the heater fire up and runs and if so for how long or does it just smoke■■?

gauze filter in fuel pump is a common problem and often gets overlooked

just piles out a load of smoke did once after several attempts get it to fire up but lasted a few minutes and shut itself down

remove fuel inlet pipe to fuel metering pump think its 17 mm spanner and remove gauze filter and check for blockage
