My cash would be on them texting, I was following a driver the other day doing it weaving through the roadworks around the A1 bypass at Newcastle, they spend more time in the eyes down position its a wonder there aren’t more accidents.

Blatantly an agency driver…Bit of a wide statement to make, arrogant to say the least?
You must be a real hit with other drivers you tell that to?
If you’d bothered to read a few more posts you’d see it was a joke
And our place don’t pay the parasites at agency’s we just crack on with the job
So come on face What did You do apart from come here sounding off… I bet NOTHING… If you were that concerned about the dangerous driving or lack of attention or even the driver being ill to the point in your own words you expected to be dialling 999 I bet you did NOTHING
You gotta be careful with this line or argument:
To do Nothing is ‘unprofessional’. To do something is to be ‘a grass’…
“Sometimes the best game strategy is not to play at all.”

If it was as bad as made out it could have been a driver having a medical problem and really needed stopping rather than trying to make it back to depot… I actually rang in 999 on a driver only later to find out he was having mini heart attacks he thought he just had indigestion… He was stopped and in hospital under the knife all in under 2hrs. Happy to say he made a full recovery retired and is enjoying life with 6 great grand kids

My my how it must be nice to be on the pay roll with all the fringe benefits.
Lets hope you never have to go to an agency especially with that chip on your shoulder, you will never get in the cab!

There are a lot of drivers out there who drive as if tired but in reality it could be their eyesight and it all depends on the lighting which has a big effect on it.
Stefluc. . . or they could be Belgian
Er…Hello ■■? What’s that for an answer ■■

Bloody hell nick, bit harsh
OK, yes I followed him for ages as there’s a million miles of roadworks to get through, I wasn’t sat up his arse the whole time, I could see him a few trucks infront then eventually ended up behind… and no, sorry I’m not prepared to start playing with a phone while I’m carrying 44 ton through one reduced lane of cones. As I said, sometimes he was ok and though I assumed he was sleepy - anything could be going on, he could have been doing anything, so I’m not going to dial 999 for every driver I see weaving up the road who may possibly be ill when they might be making a sandwich for all I know. There was no logo it was a plain painted truck.

I should point out, that if anything - I’m considered “The Grass” btw… Nothing was done by VOSA on the last shower I reported for running half-asleep drivers on 75+ hour weeks though, so I guess there’s just not enough VOSA out there to enforce much in the way of driving laws at all these days. I reckon they should triple the number of VOSA officers, assign one lot to ports & airports traffic, and the other to ONLY pulling people for on the spot fine offences… It seems nearly every day I get people in cars holding a phone to their ear swerve down the street past me… Makes my blood boil it does when they KNOW they’re “always going to get away with it”…
it’s the ■■■■■■■ on phones that hold the phone up in a way that’s so obvious they’re on the phone
or texting with the phone at arms length above the steering wheel
maybe they don’t even know they’re doing wrong!

EH
What I saw last night made me wonder how the guy had stayed alive so long - I followed this truck down the M5 for about 30-40 miles, he was swerving about a bit and I thought nothing of it at first… then we got to the roadworks and how he missed the cones was a miracle, I thought [zb] me is he falling asleep? Got to an exit slip where he indicated & moved over politely for the traffic and I thought ok at least he’s awake enough to do that - next set of roadworks and he almost went into the concrete barrier and veered wildly, just managing to stay in the lane, then bimbled down the rest of the Mway like a pinball - he turned off at the same exit as me, then went straight over the roundabout & back on the M5! I guess the driver was either stupidly tired or ■■■■■■ up, I was anticipating being the one to be dialling 999 though…
So you anticipating being the one to have to report maybe a potential fatal traffic accident due to a possible in your own words
I guess the driver was either stupidly tired or ■■■■■■ up
but decided to do nothing … so tomorrow night when this truck plays
pinball
down the M5 but ploughs through traffic we sit there and all say " driver should lose his licence " never mind the fact that SOMEONE may have prevented it by ringing plod the other night when seeing said truck
pinballing
down the road …
I take it the actions you saw were really not as bad as you really make out to be / saw or we wouldn’t be having this discussion …
No, they were. And we wouldn’t be having this discussion if we weren’t bringing hypotheticals into it.
I do see your point Nick, but berating me for NOT doing something is pointless. Should I ring the police every time I see a truck weaving about then? Because plenty do it, I just happened to see this one more. What would be the limit - crossing the line twice, driving up the hard shoulder for more than 6 seconds, failing to indicate… ? What do you do?

I refer to your FIRST POST sir

so at what point would you have referred to your last statement
I was anticipating being the one to be dialling 999
whe the vehicle struck something or went off the road …I’m not berating you but if its as bad as you say why didn’t you do something < << ■■
