So - what will that mean for us truckers on the WTD?

No doubt after years of expensive negotiations at tax payer expense, they’ll devise up a set of even more complicated rules and include advanced mathmatics as a module in the DCPC!
less crap from the eu can only be a good thing!

Then use your vote at the next election to achieve that!
6 hour rule could be scrapped
Bar that naff all would change drivers on average still work well over 48 hours a week anyway and that is with the wtd in place.
Government dont have lorry drivers in mind, they know we have the get out a jail card with POA they want to work other sectors like slaves ie nurses.
Blimey the very idea that people still believe that voting makes any difference in the slightest,is a source of wonderment to me these days.I thought there was a growing consensus that the whole political construct exists entirely to rubber stamp the corporate agenda, with handsome rewards/directorships for those who best serve the lobbyists interests after their brief tenure at westminster?
I don’t know anyone who participates in this charade anymore,as someone once said,‘cons/labour just two cheeks of the same arse’ How right was that man?..and I guess that makes the lib/dems some type of malignant hemorrhoid on that derriere for all the use they are.Type Bildeberg into google for what the whole shooting match with europe is really about and see where it leads.
This isn’t about our version of the WTD, it’s about the one normal folks have. The mention of the opt out and the on call workers thing are the clues. They could change that one and ignore ours, it will require a different session, or many sessions, of the EU to change our one.
WTD to be reviewed. Opt outs agreed.
In the same way that DCPC`s will be reviewed and either scrapped nearer the time (2014) or opt-outs and get-outs arranged.
I haven`t got a crystal ball, but its what I believe will happen.
Not till the 11th hour though, because they will grab as much money as possible before it dies a death.

Nothing major will happen!
They may adjust or amend some of the rules but only very slightly, they will never pull from the EU or do anything to upset the apple cart, they are only telling you what they think you want to hear - remember to vote for us at the next election also. Labours debt problem was £90 billion, today it stands at £163 billion, I thought the tories were cutting the debt problem?
Even Keltruck have got their nose in.
I reckon DCPC is here to stay, we are the last country not to implement it (or similar systems that other countries have). The only way to get rid of it is for us to have a goverment with some balls, Cameron is having a go at the EU on some things but its nowhere near enough. Maybe 2014 will see us have a new driver shortage (without an eastern block influx to fill it) and wages will rise. Only time will tell. I know 1 thing though, Ive got mine!

You’re right, the UK doesn’t take any notice of it so it is doubtful others would bother.
