WTD rules in a comercial vehicle workshop?

Mate of mine has just landed a job for a Merc dealership (commercials).
He’s been on lates all week, 14.30 til 22.30. Now he has to go back into work for 07.00 on Saturday morning.
Are they taking the ■■■■? :open_mouth:
It would never be allowed at my place of work, do they not have to work to the WTD rules or just make up their own? :unamused:
He also holds a C+E, what would happen if he went out in a truck on saturday morning and was involved in an accident?

He’s entitled to 11 hours consecutive rest but it’s up-to him whether or not he insists on having it

I thought as much, thanks for that.

You’re welcome

By the way, I don’t believe your mate could legally drive a vehicle that’s in-scope of EU regulations after only 8½ hours daily rest, he would need to have had at-least 9 hours rest so lets hope he’s not going out on the road in an LGV :open_mouth:
