WTD, Holiday and CPC

If I want to do a CPC module on my own time (free with C+E course I’m doing) but in order to do so I have to take a days holiday from my statutory leave, what do I book it down as?

I’m not so sure I can book it as holiday (8 hours OW), I’m pretty sure I’ve seen somewhere this isn’t allowed, I suspect to stop employers using it as a ‘loophole’.

Do I book it as holiday, get paid, then argue toss that it can’t be done this way  .

Bit of a storm in a teacup, I know, but just a little unsure.

EDIT just found an answer: I believe the rules state that if the driver is being paid to attend then it has to be booked as OW, as it’s funded by me, I can do it in my free time.

I assume you’re referring to “Driver CPC” in which case I believe VOSA regard it as legally required training for your job and count it as other work.

Personally I’d have my holiday and not bother to book the DCPC training session as anything, who’s to know

Thanks for that, it is the driver periodic CPC that I refer to.

As you say, I’ll be booking it as holiday and saying nowt  .
