WTD fines

Tachograph I feel you may have missed my point. I am fully legal abiding and would be no other way. At the end of the day I paid to get my licence not the company I am doing a bit of work for. The funny part of it all is on the time sheet they want to know the hours worked for payment and any driving you do they want to download before payment. We all know this is to cover them. 15 hours and that’s me

The way I look at it.

I can work 3 days of 13 hour duty
I can work 2 days of 15 hour duty
I have the weekend off so I get my 45 hour rest in
I can drive for 4.5 hours then 45 minute break
I drive for 9 hours a day for 3 days
I drive for 10 hours a day for 2 days

That should be right or have I balls’d it up?

I believe you are correct apart from the first two statements
You can do 3 fifteen hours shifts in a week.

Sometimes in life you need to step back and take a look at what’s going on around you.
What is wrong with what I have said?

Same thing. Correct planners are not allowed to plan you to do this, however they do.

It’s not the same thing at all. :unamused:

Imagine this.

I do a 13 hour shift, have 9 hours off, another 13 hour shift, another 9 hours off, another 13 hour shift and another 9 hours off.

So far this week I’ve done no 15 hour shifts. You say I’m allowed to do three in a week.

Bearing in mind I’ve done none so far this week, how many can I do for the rest of the week?

You’d say three.

The answer is none.

Mind blown.

You’re welcome.

No, you can reduce your daily rest to 9 hours three times between weekly rest periods.

Depending when your weekly rest falls you could do up to six reductions in a week.

Try to help and this is what I get. Time to just read and laugh at people’s ■■■■■■■■ and think they know it all. Keep myself to myself from now on. Any questions go to the professional, which I thought this site was all about

Put your toys back in the pram.

If you have nine hours off after thirteen hours shift then it is classed as reduced rest so yes you can do this upto three times in a week which for people who want to get technical about it the legal term is you may do reduced rest to nine hours upto three times in a week.

Well yea, because it ISNT about the length of the shift, its about the length of the REST in bewtween!

theoretically you could do 15 hours then 11 hours rest, then 15-11, 15-11, 15-11 for a full week if you wanted too!

Except for the small matter that the Earth only takes 24 hours to rotate on its axis and not 26.

This is my last post on this or any topic from now on. I will only now ask for advice rather than offer it due to people being pedantic.

Indeed, and in that period of seven days it is possible to legally have six reduced daily rest periods, not just three.

In theory or in practice it wouldn’t be legal.
