WTD 10hr rule infringement

Its never made much sense to me that some companies are restricted to 10 hours night work while others can do more. Why?
How can it be right for one but not the other…

Nothing like creating work for yourself.
Do the guys that download their card and presumably study the data at home, make a manual entry for the time spent?

No, that wouldn’t make any sense. Downloading my card at home, as a relatively new driver, let’s me spend five mins a week to ensure I’m doing things correctly. I don’t see anything wrong with that. Thanks for your input though.

That makes no sense, it’s for their own benefit, not any benefit to their employer.

Just living up to your name again?

You seem to have all the answers, unless it’s how to operate a pump truck.
When you finish work you are supposed to show time for downloading your card, handing in keys or paperwork, what’s the difference?

I create an entry showing five mins before and after my shift to show my other work for things like paperwork, keys, download, clock out etc. My employer does not ask me to then download my card at home. I do it in my own free time, once a week, to ensure I’m doing things correctly. It’s for my own benefit. I like my job and I take pride in doing it well. If I make a mistake, I can learn from it. I’m not sure what your issue is with that.

I think thats a grey area.I dont think even VOSA would take it that far

They want me to polish my boots before I comd to work. That is work also, but I dont do a manual entry of that
