Saw a convoy of WS Transportation motors the other day pulling some brand new livered tautliners & seen another few today.
So what’s going on? I always associated WS with flatbeds, are they going into direct competition with ESL? Just what we need.

I think they sleep in the same bed so I wouldn’t exactly call it ‘competition’.

Yes your right ,but it still confuses the hell out of me how it all work ,as there’s next too no work at my depot I get day- hired too other depots ,why you pay too hire a driver that already works for that company is beyond me

I would have thought lomas would have given the work to smaller firms more local to them rather than giving it to big players like WS which is basically stobarts and will try a take work of the likes of lomas given a chance
subbing for dinky is not a get rich quick scheme , he has a few locals that use him when work is slack on the blocks/bricks etc . my old gaffer put a new unit under one of his tanks but it didn’t last long , he soon bought a tipping trailer . dave

Anyone seen an open can of worms?
Just wait till you see the timber cranes they’re putting on the road , that’ll get the tongues wagging . William stobarts son is allegedly running WST , but when it comes to stobarts & WST , there’s another man who has a rather large say in what goes on , but I can’t give names , cos if I do I’ll have to kill you all [emoji15][emoji12]

Think you’ll find they have been on the road for a few weeks now
Didn’t that used to be the road division of Stobart Rail?
Seen a couple this week pulling step frame low loader trailers with vans on the back. Basically it’s Eddie Stobarts mark II ain’t it. Must be great going from not having your class 1 and 2 and not having an idea about anything to do with road haulage ( considering he was a landscape gardener ) to running your own haulage company all in the space of a few month.
Ain’t they took a load of the steel work off of Potos also?

They have a contract with Scania to deliver all the new trucks. I see them on a regular basis running in and out of Immingham docks with low loaders. Can’t say I’ve seen them in the steel yard though.

They have a contract with the steel works in Bolton. Think they use it as an operating centre.

I think you’ll find WST took over Lomas a few months back.
