Would you take this out? (Apologies for it being on it’s side)

If i was on my way to get it repaired yes.If just working no.

That’s what I thought, as it prob was tbh, but I wouldn’t like to have a chat with
Mr vosa about it

I would think the best thing would be to have a defect sheet filled out for it and write on where you are taking it for repair and maybe record the time as well. That way it should be clear that you are taking the vehicle directly to be repaired and not using it for any other purpose.

Nothing wrong with it, just don’t make any right turns. Crack on drive.

You could make right turns with hand signals perhaps!!!■■

Difficult in a left hand unit unless the driver has very long arms!

A Freelander? No, dreadful car would sooner drive the unit next to it.

Technically I believe its ok to drive with no rear lights as long as you perform hand signals.

I’m glad there is something significant missing and not a thread about refusing a unit due to a cracked numberplate. That actually happened at a previous job years ago, the guy even phoned his agency to notify them that I was telling him to take the unit. So when the agency phoned me I asked for a new driver and suddenly the guy was Ok with the cracked numberplate.

A bit OT but how many folks here would know the correct hand signal to indicate you were turning left? In a RHD of course.

Is it arm out Palm facing down doing a circular movement with your arm?

Steve wins the cigar. Well remembered mate.

Given the lack of indication by drivers with two rear light clusters I don’t think it would make any difference.

Trailer on = no problem :unamused:

But no, I would not take it out…

You need Clint Eastwoods drivers mate. Right turn Clyde

Not sure about that. I had my o/side rear light’s knocked off by a JCB on a site and I strapped the mudguard and lights up temporarily with rope to get to the welding shop, the light’s still worked OK but obviously were not fixed solidly. On the way a Police dog handler in a van pulled me over and gave me a caution, I had ten minutes to get to my destination otherwise he would book me for insecure lighting and he even followed me there! Maybe I would have been better off with them missing completely? :unamused:

Pete.

What’s the hand signal for this is my vehicle in the dark?

The daftness of the law is its legal with a trailer on.

Don’t think the law is daft at all, as long as the front and back are working what’s the problem? The lights and number plate are only there to mark the vehicle when driven solo, they’re virtually redundant when coupled up. What’s your take on lifting bumpers when a rigid becomes a draw bar?
