Would you take the offer?

This is just out of curiosity.

I recently did my bendi licence for forklift (I like to keep my options open)

When I asked how much the course cost the company, they told me it was 295. I asked what the first time pass rate was, they told me 100%

Guess what? I passed… well, that’s not quite true… there was no test to pass, so I completed the course and got the license.

Got me thinking, if you were offered a hgv course any class , I will pluck a figure out of the air, say £2995 but all you have to do is stay the course (remind you of the cpc? Lol) no test, guaranteed license, would it catch on?

£3k is too much.

That’s a normal class 1/2 course plus about 5 restests!

If you haven’t passed after that you should be considering if it’s for you or not.

Plus I have experience of attendance courses! Leave you totally unprepared for the real world. I’m thinking about my HIAB training. Theoretically, there was a test - but no one fails it. Real world hit me so hard in the face I was spinning for a week.

Yeah Sammy, but no test!

Yep, I´d ■■■■■■ their hand off. Realistically? 3k is a bit rich but for a guaranteed flip flop licence? I´d do it.

Lol, it’s cloud cuckoo land anyway dude!

I just wondered if people would queue up to pay twice the price for the security of a guaranteed pass, with no test.

Psychology really :smiling_imp:

It would never happen in practice, too open to abuse. But of the drivers I have asked (bearing in mind they have all already passed) about 8 in 10 said they would have jumped at it.

If the offer had have been there when I did class one the first time (straight from car) I would have jumped at it myself

Who would have thought that a driving test could leave such long lasting psychological scars? Lol

So, the other 2, why wouldn´t they have gone for it, then? I mean, it´s a hypothesis anyway so…

Actually, I’ve changed my mind. I would do it.

Some people will be shocked to know this. But I wasn’t always as amazing a driver as I am now. At one point I was like the normal people and I failed by class 2 test twice. It’s amazing how I’ve gone from that to driving God in less than a year.

With no extra training I then passed it. The test just made me nervous. And actually the time I was waiting for retests could have been utilised actually working and earning money. I know numbers are contencious. So let’s call it £500/week (average). Those fails if I was full time would have cost me a lot of money. More than the cost of a retest.

However like Jbaz says - it will never happen.

Also Stevie my mate - don’t believe all you read on here about EE tests. Most of their class 1 tests are actually harder than ours. British drivers just like to repeat things idiots have told them. I certainly wouldn’t want to face a Polish class 1 test even now. Look on youtube for their reversing skill!

stops re-reading Sammys day out with a HIAB, controls the “sniggering like a schoolgirl”

Yep, I hear ya Sammy. I´ve seen that reversing thing too. I was mainly commenting on their seeming lackadaisical attitude towards rules and regs I suppose, not so much the actual driving, although…

Anyway, get on Facetube, I´ve sent another daft question at you

Jbaz, when is your LGV driving school opening up?

 :smiling_imp: :sunglasses:
