We share the roads (and all public places) with all sorts, unfortunately some of them would in better times of common sense have been locked away from the general public, for the public’s safety, in one of the many asylums dotted about the country.
Now they roam the country, together with hundreds of thousands of assorted nutters diagnosed and arrived since those asylums have long closed, its called care in the community, not forgetting the growing legion of drug addled zombies another modern phenomenon.
All you can do is avoid these disturbed types whenever possible, no point in reporting them because unless they utter (preferably online) a wrong word which could be construed as hate speech then our increasingly politicised pointless and irrelevant law enforcement dept just won’t be interested, don’t worry the law will turn up mob handed when one of these nutters has stabbed his next victim a few times, so best advice is to avoid confronting those who should be in secure accommodation at her maj’s pleasure so lessening the chances of you being that victim.
the maoster:
I don’t really believe that most (with a few exceptions) companies really bother following this sort of thing up, they may pay lip service to the person calling to complain and may tell their driver to wind his neck in, but that’ll be about it.
Yeah I worked (long term placement through an agency) for one of those ‘exceptions’ many moons ago, I was driving a 7.5 tonner for a door company (pre C and C+E days) and a very well to do lady pulled up alongside me at a two lane roundabout exit and she shouted across via her open passenger window in her best entitled tea and crumpets voice “I wish to be in that lane” I just stared at her and said “ok, so why are you in that lane then?” shook my head and then wound up my window, traffic started to move again at that point and off we all went and I turned left as I’d intended (hence the reason I was in the left lane at roundabout), a minute or so later the aforementioned lady came past me (duel carriageway) and pipped her horn at me (I’m assuming she had to go all the way around the roundabout to then be able to come off of said exit) anyway no drama’s or road raging, no gesticulating coffee beans or counting with fingers just carried on the day and never gave it another thought.
Yeah I suppose I could have let her in front of me, if I’d really had the mind too but as an early 20’s ‘youf’ I was slightly irked by her pushy arrogant demand (plus she wasn’t young and fit - sorry but it’s true, no matter how ‘PC’ we’re supposedly meant to be these days) but other than the remarkably uncocky (for a young lad) reply and the shake of the head I made no deal or issue out of it.
Got back to the companies yard at the end of the day, fuelled up, checked run list for the next day said “see ya” to the lads in the warehouse after a bit of a natter as you do and went home.
Phone call about an hour or so after I got home from the agency telling me I’d been pulled off the (very cushy and good money) door contract because the door company had received a complaint regarding a road incident with a very shaken up and distressed lady earlier that day! No if’s, no buts, no ‘my side of the story’ just ended… binned… done… Agency told me they’d try and find me other work but no way would I get back on with door company, I told them to stick the agency and the door company up their arse (early 20’s ‘youf’ coming out in full force now) and slammed the phone down. (hah you could actually still slam phones down then, now you have to press the red button with vigor and it doesn’t have anywhere near the same satisfaction)
■■■■■■ off wasn’t the word
(sorry, that turned out to be a much longer and in-depth post than I initially intended )
it doesnt sound a really bad un, only you know being there-but if it was a real bad case id find out who the driver was and his number and slip a handwritten note into a few kids comics at the newsagents "young boys wanted phone 07blah blah "
Conor:
Baby on board sticker usually is a sign of driver who can’t drive for toffee. The general consensus is bellends use those stupid things. I hope you take it out when you don’t have one onboard.
Read the post it is not my car with the sticker in, and the person driving can definitely drive and drive safely.
Forgive me for wanting our roads to be safer. If everyone just “leaves it on the road” that will never happen.
If Just maybe words of advice are given, mistakes pointed out, if it’s serious enough disciplinary action taken (if it’s a company vehicle) then even if that saves one life in the future is it not worth it? Rather than just “leaving it on the road”.
This will be my last post on TNUK as I ant believe the attitude of some on here. If possible moderator please delete my account. Good bye

What the heck!? You do realise this is a discussion forum - something where people share their own individual opinions and thoughts on a wide range of topics which will often be different to your own? I’m not sure that the internet is for you if you only want to receive responses from people that agree with you.

A slight digression, but this highlights something I find quite powerful when trying to overcome my frustrations on the road.
Say for example I’m following a Micra in the roadworks with max 50mph limit and it’s doing 38mph, I visualise it’s my mum with my little niece on the backseat. For me it works a treat as it improves my tolerance, and I become less frustrated. Afterall, it is somebody’s mum, and nobody wants a fully loaded juggernaut tailgating their mum (dipper dave need not reply).
haha. What a drama out of practically nothing. I had two complaints the other week. Hadnt done anything wrong apart from point out someone elses deficiencies as a driver. As a result of this two phone calls ten minutes apart alleged I had tried to run a car full of infants, kittens and nuns off a motorway.
Rowley . I bet you have sufficiently exaggerated this incident too. Guess you wont read this as your dummy well and trully left the pram.
toonsy:
Let it go. Nobody was hurt despite gross stupidity and it’s doubtful it will actually get followed up on by the police anyway unless there’s dashcam footage in which case something might come of it
I know the police won’t be interested, I was thinking more just informing his company of their drivers standards whilst in a company vehicle…
They will be. Both of them want their collar felt. It makes me smile how indignant people can get about drink driving and rightly so but this dangerous and aggressive behaviour is somehow not worth bothering with? [zb] are taking their time to catch on that there’s lots of cameras about these days so they’re obviously not the sharpest tools in the box making them that bit more dangerous in my experience.
some one chucked bottle of pop at me hit windscreen got it on dash cam took to old bill, week later not enoth evidence to do any think as driver could not be identified
what a stupid zb thing to say Connor , every one who sticks a baby on board sign in there car is a bellend , they do it in most cases hoping it makes little one a bit safer , I’d say anything that may make the little one safer is a good idea :roll, I recently followed a young lass in here car and at times I thought bloody hell what are you doing , but the p plate stuck on the car warned me the reason she was doing some of the things she was because she’d just passed her test , so I gave her plenty of space / time , I’d hazard a guess her dad stuck it on as I did my girls car when she just past as I thought it would hopefully make other drivers aware she was a new driver so may make the odd mistake , and hopefully they’d give her a bit of leeway , I guess me and her dad are bellends
This type of thing will happen over and over, as long as no kittens have gone through the mincer just let it go. Im not too up personally on UK police anymore but very much doubt they would be interested tbh. Would imagine theyre inundated with dash cam footage these days.
Dont let it get to you Rowley just put it down to yet another eventful day on the road. Some of the places i drive through/around its like demolition derby aka Madrid central…not worth the rise in blood pressure mate…
The sad thing is is, like so many other aspects of our lives now, we are actually required to “Police” ourselves. Whilst an incident such as this may well constitute a top end “Drivout without reasonable consideration” or even a lower end “Dangerous”, the chances of the Police following it are slim.
You would have to be able to identify the road, which Police area it was in and then find the relevant Road Policing Unit that covers it. (Unless there is a dedicated Dash Cam Footage Hot line as a few Forces now have). Then you would have to provide a witness statement and give an indication that You would be willing to go to Court.
Even if it did make it to Court (potentially Crown Court if it’s a Dangerous) you could well have several days wasted and then face a grilling yourself even though you were a witness.
dozy:
, but the p plate stuck on the car warned me the reason she was doing some of the things she was because she’d just passed her test , so I gave her plenty of space / time , :
Therefore…
If a vehicle doesn’t have a P plate you don’t give it plenty of space and time?

The police won’t be interested, so the thread ends here, unless of course you are trying to punish someone because they drove badly, in your opinion!
