Would you do it?

May be worth finding out if he can cook .
In the main for the company and the greehorn it is a good idea, i would request a motel budget tough.
It is not only the space that is an issue if you splitting the driving it can get scary!

Definately would, but ONLY if they looked like this

Don’t really understand why any driver would need 2-3 weeks being shown the ropes on tramping. I never had anyone “show me the ropes”. Just told where I was going on the first day and to ring in when done for instructions for next days loads when done. What exactly are you going to show them tramping that you cant show them on a day run? How to cook in a cab  Just watch some of Switch logics films for that . Or maybe you could read them a goodnight story and tuck them in their bunk at the end of the shift. Don’t get me wrong, I agree there is definitely not enough proper training and too much chucking people in at the deep end in this industry. There have been many occasions when I wouldn’t have minded some good advice from a more experienced driver but never for anything that was relevant to tramping.

Let me think now…NO!

I presume you’re still after some help to take UK registered trucks and make them Bulgarian then? Would you not be better off cutting to the chase and getting in some young Bulgarian blood and show them the ropes, as it will ultimately be them driving the trucks in the future.

If your boss aksed you to take a newbie with you for 2 or 3 weeks tramping, Would you do it to show him the ropes?

If he seemed clean and hygenic with some common sense I might.

NO , a maximum of one night to show them the ropes

3 weeks might be a bit much, but we at our firm are expected to show new employees the ropes.
So I have often shared the cab with some other bugger, for a week two. It don’t bother me in the least.

Many hands make light work.

There are exceptions to the rule lol

Tramping …No
Day work …Yes

As a newbie I was given 2 weeks with an old hand on Day work, I drove, He snored most of the time, the rest he showed/pointed the way around

A day, yes. Two or three weeks, living in the cab? No chance. One or other of us would be sleeping in the trailer by the end of the second day.

That’s all sorted out now.
This thread was nothing to do with it.
