I’m moving and there are some places where landlords don’t like to do contracts, not a good thing I know. But I was wondering whether this would be an issue in order to change the adress in my license and tacho , and later on registering in other agencies?
When you send your licence and counterpart to DVLA, do you need to provide a proof of adress? Do i have to send both, the licence and tacho them together in the same letter?
You dont need proof of change of address when informing the DVLA , but dont send them false or incorrect information , you can send your licence and tacho card together or seperately it doesnt matter , i drove around with a different addresss on each one until it was pointed out to me by a kindly vosa man . He just advised me to correct the address on my tacho card.
so is as simply as sending the Licence and counterpart filled with your new adress and that’s it?
now my concern is if I would have problems registering with agencies, because I do know there are some that ask for a proof of adress.
Any Idea?, Id like to have all my documents well updated, but don’t know how could I deal with this if I don’t have a tenancy agreement. Bills are going to the landlord so I cant have a bill on my name.
Think you’ll still need 1 other form of proof of address…
Do you have an recent payslip with new address on it, or bank can send letter to new address, and that would form additional proof…
Must be within 3 months old though!
the problem is if I change my licence’s adress, from that point, I will need a proof of adress of the new house if I want to register with another agencies.
If I go to the bank saying I’m changed my adress, they very probbably will ask me for a proof…
I think the best way will be asking the landlord for a private contract and saying him it’s esesncial for my work. if not, there are plenty of fishes and landlords in the sea
I don’t remember the bank asking for proof of new address but i may be wrong. Is the tv licence in the landlords name too? Its usually the tenant who is liable for that which is why i tend to view it as personal rather than renewing every time i moved in the past
the tv licence is paid by the landlord, bear in mind that I’m moving into a room, not a private flat.
I’ll check this matter with my bank, anyway, Is a bit weird living in a place where you can’t demostrate that you live in. I’ll ask them for a private contract, definately
Change your address on line for the bank, job done.
The landlord has to produce a tenancy agreement or licence agreement otherwise you fall into standard tenancy terms which are better for you, as you say it’s a room if he lives there too, then ask for a licence agreement, effectively it’s a weekly tenancy agreement. Explain it’s for work.
Alternatively just address everything at your mums get a job tramping live in the wagon, find a bit of totty with her own place crash there at weekends job sorted. Drive for a vehicle exporters you’ll be away for 6 to 12 weeks.
I know people that use their companies address for licence/bank etc because they tramp.
