Winseer:
Are they stationary? - After all, the shadows are not leaning forwards…
Are you serious?? They are heading down blah blah!!
And another thing…if you go to the ‘snappers’ Flickr page and zoom in on the trucks, there is absolutely no blur on the wheels, the trees in the background or anything else in the frame…even the road surface looks pin sharp so my money is on a ‘setup’

I think you’re right, let the frothing cease.
But on that theory, all the other trucks on those photos must have been stationary also, neary all those pics on that site were taken more or less on the same bit of motorway, I very much doubt it was a set up! unless you mean the camera man is a fraud and its been photoshopped!
One of the lads I work with (not same company) drives likes this too. Does my ■■■■ in. No matter how many times you tell him to drop back, he still had to creep back up close behind. I think it’s an ex forces thing.
Contraflow how can i video it when trying to keep 28 ton on the road. It REALLY did happen just one of those
times when you wish you could video it.
Im not one for ■■■■■■■ about other drivers as we all do the same job and im sure we have all done something at
sometime which somebody else would hate us for but those two with the company name emblazoned everywhere taking the p i think. Really if it hadnt been for the car drivers quick reactions there would def have been a mess.

Speaketh the man who clearly knows absolutely nothing about the basics of photography.

There are ways of dealing with these pricks when reasonably asking or anything else does not work.
It was better on older trucks when you could knock off the ignition so everything worked except the brake lights, not professional I know, but definitely effective as a desperate last resort.

Brainless individual in the truck behind. No thought of others road users that may want merge into traffic at the next junction, or the fact that his field of view is so limited he has zilch idea of what is happening up ahead.
brains of a gnat , maybe he is fed up wiv his life and wants 2 end it !!

Anyone can take a photo of moving objects with a high shutter speed and be left with a boring picture…slow it down and see a sense of speed and movement with some ‘motion blur’…much more pleasing on the eye
…but you reckoned the lorries must have been stationary because there’s no motion blur. You didn’t say the photographer had used a fast shutter speed, you said it must have been a set up.
You don’t need to educate me about photography. I was pointing out the fact that although the photo is pin sharp, it doesn’t mean the lorries weren’t moving.

Well Gickniff DCPC trainers dont need to be qualified. All they have to be able to do is spout ■■■■■■■■ in an athaurative tone, and show lots of videos that you get for free from the internet.
True but it helps if they’ve an ounce of common sense!
Looks like the rear run out of fuel and the other driver said “no bother mate ashford truckstops down here let me give you a tow, stay in phone contact”
The new DAF XF has Adaptive Cruise Control as an option. The human reaction time can be taken out of the equation in terms of breaking time because the computer handles all of it. I wouldn’t drive that close because I cant see the road ahead, but in terms of stopping in the event of the lead vehicle breaking, the computer handles it.
BTW. If i get a truck with ACC, Ill set it much further back so that I have time to react if the fuse blows on the way down the road!
