Would a true professional drive this close

Would you really drive this close to the vehicle in front whether it was one of your fleet or not.

No, I just can’t understand why people do it. If you sit two or three seconds further back then you’ll arrive at your destination two or three seconds later.

Brainless individual in the truck behind. No thought of others road users that may want merge into traffic at the next junction, or the fact that his field of view is so limited he has zilch idea of what is happening up ahead.

Is it possible for the driver to see out of the windscreen with the sun blind down that low? I can’t use sun visors on any truck I’ve had as they simply block my vision. Is the driver Verne Troyer? Are they parked up somewhere for a ‘photo shoot’? Also looks like the lead guy is on the phone

Actrosman:

Are you serious!
They are on the move heading down the the M20

If 1st truck has to brake for any reason, where will the 2nd truck go? Driving that close I bet he can’t even see the brake lights on the truck in front. :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Are they stationary? - After all, the shadows are not leaning forwards…

No a professional driver wouldn’t…
But a CFS driver would

Nowt wrong with that. hes in his slipstream improving his mpg

Hope this doesn’t get back to the boss, unless that’s him in the one behind, then it’s ok. :open_mouth:

Many years ago, once I started driving class one  the boss man said follow < insert drivers name here > :open_mouth: so as the new boy ( before speed limiters ) :sunglasses: I said to old sweat " old man, don’t be offended if I overtake you! " I never follow anyone! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: not that close anyway! :unamused:

I sure as ■■■■ wouldn’t drive that close :open_mouth:
And the only thing professional about me is I sometimes get paid :smiling_imp:

As my drive tyres are nearing end of life and speed has dropped off a bit I get this a lot of late.
Another truck hanging on to the back doors nose out a bit so as to fill the mirror.
Now I know the correct response to this but there is another response that is sometimes harder to resist.

Maybe he saw the cameraman and wanted to help with getting both trucks in the picture!

Stupid responses, these drivers are in full training mode for the Paralorrydriveroftheyear competition. The driver in the rear is only partially sighted and is controlled by the driver in the front,
superb effort,well done lads.

I seem to remember Volvo or Mercedes trialling a driverless system not long ago, where the vehicle in front also drove the vehicle behind.

Perhaps DAF have at last caught up.

Ken.

Nottingham’s finest seem to be using the driverless system too…

:unamused:

Some drivers do think that if you’re following your mate you can drive right up his ■■■ and everything will be ok for some reason.
