Excuse me for being a thicky, but what is an avotar?
Like the look of the new board. Don’t know about being able to put piccies on though. At least now when I say I look like Mel Gibson, no one can tell if i’m exagerating

It can be a pic like Simons of a favourite item for example, it could be a pic of anything you wanted, or it could even be a pic of you if you wanted.

If you do decide to add an avatar (a picture) please make sure that it’s no bigger than 6kb and that it is no higher and wider than 80 pixels x 80 pixels, if its any bigger than that the computer won’t take it.

If you look in your profile there is a section at the bottom for uploading pics. just browse your hard drive for the pic you want then hit the upload button but as sam said make sure its the right size.

The 80X 80 is a guideline as is the 6 kb…

we are trying NOT to be officious here and allow a little leeway

however there has to be a guide to which folks at least are close too…

1… I dont want your money
2. the reason for keeping Avatars 80x80 and 6 kb is to keep the bandwidth down
3. Too large Avatars cause the page to stretch larger than the browser window… which is a pain
4.If You really want a huge pictutre on this site… sign a contract as a advertiser and we will give you a 458X 60 banner
