turned in for work on friday morning at 05.30 to find my truck gone, had to phone my boss to see if he knows where it had gone.also tried cab phone but no answer.Boss finally phoned back to inform me a agency driver had taken the truck and load, turns out boss cancelled all agency drivers for friday but agency forgot to tell this driver,so he turns up at 03.00 and finds that his name is not on the board for that day,so instead off phoning agency or my boss he takes my wagon and does the delivery,in the end i ended up doing another job that day witch meant i lost out on overtime …
Cant blame the agency driver, he turned up as he was originally informed to and probably thought it was a oversight that his name wasnt on the board…I would hardly expect him to call his agency or your boss at 3am, anyway, as far as he was concerned, he turned up, the truck was there waiting with keys available and he got on with what he was meant to do. Not his fault that no-one told him he was cancelled.
Unfair to call him a plonker.

Why weren’t you there at 3am and you coulda said something
To be fair if I turned up at 3am I would make sure I got in a lorry and got off before someone sent me home and I spent the next few days battling to get my money for turning up when no one told me not to. Sure as sure if he went home and phoned the agency they’d find a way of not paying. He was there so may as well put a shift in he probably realised what happened and that he shouldn’t of been there but thought I’m here now, not my fault I may aswell earn a days pay.

I’d say he played it quite well.
You’re the plonker for stopping in bed and letting an agency driver steal your job.
Early bird catches the worm, you plonker.

my start time was 05.30 you [zb].agency driver should not have been in,so he took it on himself to take a truck and do a job that he had no right too.
Isn’t it a bit worrying someone can turn up at your yard and help themselves to a motor?

well your boss then needs too call the agency and tell em he aint paying him or them for the job he did then call the rozzers and inform them that this agency driver had taken the truck without his consent, drivin it on the highway with no insurance then you need too go into you bosses office and tell him that since you lost out on your overtime because of it that you will go halfs with him on the money he saved by not paying the agency

Your first post on this site recommends giving someone a slap.
Your second is to ■■■■■ about an agency driver and your third is call someone a ■■■■■■■
You’ll fit in here fine.

who said anything about slapping someone,if you read the post right ,i turned in for work ,my truck was not there ,nobody had any idea where it was + all my stuff was in the truck,ie wet proof gear swipe cards hard hat gloves etc, agency driver turns up when he should not ,no job for him so he helps himself to himself…
Think I read it right…I meant your very first post on the site, not necessarily on this thread.
See it from the agency drivers point of view,he probably gets messed about, like you did but a lot more often I should imagine so I would have done the same as him,he wasn’t told any different.
After all,he might have lost a day’s wage not some overtime so I would be blaming the people in charge.

Are you seriously that thick, or have you studied?
You said in your first post that the agency forgot to tell the driver he wasn’t required…so how the ■■■■ is it the drivers fault?
It’s not. He did what any agency driver with a brain would do…get the hell out of the yard, do the job and bank a days pay.
Only one plonker in this thread, and it ain’t the agency driver!
Oh, and welcome to Trucknet.
not been on here long and my first post on here got the responses i thought i would get,so yous lot think it is ok for agency driver to turn up for work when the job was cancelled and just helps himself to a truck and take it without permission.well if this is what you so called professional drivers think is ok,well this is my first and last post on here,so f@@k yous all and goodbye…

Bit harsh considering it was HIS TRUCK . . HIS LORRY!!
Plonker?
I think the word is “initiative”.
I hope the boss offers him a full time position. I know i would.

Honestly, before you go…if you are told to go to work, take ■■■ wagon to ■■■ destination and it’s in the yard…What would you do?
In fact, every day you are given work do you phone up in the early hours to make sure it’s still on or do you get on with it?
But surely someone gave him the keys to the lorry and paperwork etc.(is this not the plonker!) or can anyone just turn up at your place and just drive away with one?
