Worst Road Users Survey

And the point of this survey is■■? Considering there isn’t even an option to criticise our fellow professional drivers it is going to be a biased result. It’s like the guys on the caravan forums asking who holds the most amount of traffic up, but leaving themselves out of the running.

I can only presume its some half arsed marketing attempt to blame every other road user for bad driving.

This^. Stupid biased survey with absolutely no purpose other than to procure everyone’s email address for spam purposes.

ye canna beat a spam sandwich or even some fried spam

Does it?

As it happens this is for some research for an article about drivers perceptions on other road users

perhaps you missed this little part of the form…

By taking part in this survey you indicate your consent for us to email you information about selected products, events and services from Road Transport Media and from carefully chosen third parties, unless you object to receiving such messages by ticking the boxes below.

you know the bit in BOLD to make it stand out… simply tick the boxes- job done, I would imagine everyone here is capable of understanding that.

According to Radio 2 listeners a couple of years ago. I was one of the worst drivers going!! as I obviously I drive HGV’s plus tow a caravan with a 4x4. So if I drive a Micra at 45 on a motorway, I will be a good driver?

Maybe not!

I spotted that bit Rikki, and ticked the third party exclusion - so if I get ANY spam from ANYBODY I’m gonna sue you :stuck_out_tongue:

Worst road users? - anyone from Norfolk! Have just returned from a weeks holiday there, and have never seen such appalling driving! Overtaking, in convoy, approaching bends and summits seems to be the norm!

Mind you, prize for idiotic thickhead of the week goes to the driver of a Felixstowe Logistics artic, on the road from Downham Market to Diss, last Wednesday p.m. - tailgating at 55+. Moron!

Come on Rikki, spare me please. Isn’t it strange how when you tick such ‘opt out’ boxes that your once spam-free email account now suddenly receives a couple of spam emails each week from random companies. And yes I have tested this myself (not on rt.com survey I should add) with throwaway randomly generated email addresses when filling in surveys and selecting all the ‘opt out’ marketing options, but guess what, a few days later the spam mail starts rolling in. I am in no way accusing rt.com of this practice, but suffice to say I’ve yet to come across any online survey that doesn’t distribute your email address to other (paying) companies who then spam you with their products. I don’t see why rt.com would be any different, imho.

The choice of voting options just seems bizarre, where was the ‘none of the above’ or a place to insert your own choice. Maybe I’m just ■■■■■■ off since BMW drivers made the vote. I also have a white Sprinter van and an old Shogun, not to mention quite a few seem to think N. Irish trucks are classed as foreign so I’m probably on that list 4 times.

I am glad to see that there is no “our Eastearn European friends who stole our jobs and now driving our lorries for pennies while cannot even reverse” option to choose from  Obviously as it’s a shortlist this view is popular only on trucknet

I’ve gone for

  1. Pensioners, no need to be on the road and always crawling along, sat 2" from the windscreen, no chance of seeing anything in their mirrors (like they ever use them anyway) and always in the bloody way, oh and always speed up when you’re trying to pass them 'cause they’re doing 46mph on a bloody motorway.

  2. School run mums, why is this the time that’s taken for them to get dressed, put their make-up on, ignore all road signs, including the ones that are their to protect their kids (school keep clear etc) and do all their days phone calls, whilst driving the biggest vehicle that they can squeeze their 1 child into, cause bloody congestion and mayhem!!

  3. Hybrid car drivers, always seem to drive like complete ■■■■■, like they’ve got a hybrid so it doesn’t matter if they do 100mph in a 30 zone, undertake, overtake, sit in outside lane no matter what (unless undertaking of course), drive up your arse, never use any lights or indicators 'cause it might drain their battery…

:unamused:

I refused to answer the survey as I believe it is totally inappropriate and could lead to acts of agression against other drivers that just happen to drive something different to us! :unamused:

Not only that, looking at some of the responses I am probably the most hated driver on the road, I am, or have been, in the following categories during my driving lifetime:

Taxi driver, bus driver, coach driver, school run dad, rep-mobile driver, dustcart driver, BMW driver, cyclist and I am now a pensioner with membership of the National Trust and English Heritage… And I still drive the odd truck for fun

Runs into a corner and hides :open_mouth:

PS: I used to fly Hawker Hunters but I don’t think that counts…

‘…Cast your votes for the UK’s worst road users…’

Before I cast anything, why not also ask ‘why is it the case that groups of road users are seemingly against each other’ - as this thread suggests?

What benefit is there in gathering together as a group to cast down other groups?

Why not ask the government why it hasn’t got a grip of the whole situation and why is ‘diversity’ (ie, its own sales pitch telling us that the UK is all cushty and brilliant) not working for those of us that graft on the roads?

The ‘diversity’ phenomenon is supposedly helping make this nation fantastic - as the politicians tell us and want us to imagine. Why is it fracturing us into groups of hateful losers instead?

what made you think that :imp: im guessing the pic to the left which is infact lisa kelly of ice road truckers

Got nothing gainst those white van men, but the start of the holiday season has flooded the roads with morons.

Easily spotted … rear window obscured by towels, blankets and a million and one other things not needed for a holiday whilst cutting in front of you and slamming on the brakes to make their exit or sitting along side you for five miles oblivious to your indication that you wish to move right to overtake the vehicle in front then phoning the number on the side of your vehicle to report you for dangerous driving.

Its amazing how so many car only license holders think they can drive a lorry yet never leave us enough space to get past. I find van drivers very helpful though most let us out and i often try and help them out by returning the favour. I think its important to look out for us goods vehicle drivers, we’re all in the same boat at the end of the day.

I wish some of them would do that, it’s my mobile on the door so I could tell them to get out the {zb] way :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

  1. Bus drivers
  2. Pensioners
  3. Cyclists

Thats the 3 I picked because 1) bus drivers think they own the roads. 2) pensioners because they think they own the roads to and never use there ■■■■ mirrors or indicate and 3) cyclists get in the ■■■■ way and 9 times out of 10 are the reason they get injured because of there own stupid fault. :imp:
