Rikki’s right, never know if you’ll need to go cap in hand?
For that reason I’m oouutt!.
I worked for S Jones from Aldridge on the Ferrymasters contract.
I hated it but I did my first International trip with them because non of the old sweats would do it because the money was crap (they were right).
When they heard I was going to Murfitts the old sweats told me not to do it because it was crap (they were wrong).
I don’t often agree with Limeyphil but he’s right, if you don’t like a place, believe in yourself and get another job. What’s the point in hanging about boring everyone to death with your moaning?
W
Rikki has a point about who reads these forums. It wouldn’t be the first time someone has been sacked for slagging a company off on a social media site. In fact I believe… and IIRC… employees have been taken to court over it.
That said. Is it always the Companies who are crap…or the jobsworth and fellow workers who work for them?
You can’t get sacked from a job you are no longer working at!
Also, as long as you only give the name of the company, you are not telling any lies.
You can only get into trouble if you say something that is not true, if you stick to the basic fact that you used to work there and you didnt like it, then who can do anything about it?
Name and shame I say (as ling as it’s the truth mind )
I appreciate what you are saying…although…an IP Address isn’t the best kept secret in the world.
First choice logistics ,now called Severn valley transport in shifnal were a bunch of and
McLellan’s Transport, crap job, they were cheating on overtime and they tried to take advantage of my situation and to rip me off over 1200 pounds when I was inujured in a car accident (not blamed by me and not related to my work in any way).

Only post what you can prove with documented evidence- hearsay doesnt count !!!
I won my case in Employment Tribunal, I have it all on paper
Mines another plant hire co’ not far from here…
Money was crap, flogged daily, yet he would bragg to people (that I later found out), ‘my employees are on £■■■ amount!’
Er, no we wern’t, pennies more like.
Pushed to run bent all the time (I have photos of my ‘ex’ truck on weighbridge). Lerned what would happen if pulled, so left.
He’s the only man on this earth I know of that can cut corners off a circle!
Exel (doing Nisa stores & Travel Inn Hotels),
& Brakes Bros.
(Will never forget the day I fractured my ankle while doing one of their pishy drops. I was trying to get a sack truck of cooking oils round some ridiculously tight twisty flight of stairs in Edinburgh…
Despite STILL doing the rest of the drop for them, and driving the wagon back to base in excruciating pain using my ok foot for all 3 pedals, the stingy gits didn’t even offer me any help just to get home after my shift!
“Sorry mate, you’re agency, not our problem… Phone them they’ll help you”. (Ummm at 8pm on a Sunday?? I think not you pleb …) So I had to bloody WALK - with a limp - 15 min to the bus stop)
Needless to say I have never accepted any shifts from Brakes since. All that “Health & Safety” BS they make u sign and “understand” beforehand is absolute pish from the driver’s perspective - it counts for absolutely NOTHING, all it does is probably cover their backs.
These are NOT driving jobs, they are labour jobs which happen to involve a small element of driving.
The worst company I have ever driven for:, untaxed vehicles, red diesel, overweight, bending every rule in the book. Crap wages.
The gaffer was a prat but could still do the job, funnily enough we shared the same birthday and address
Brakes at Grantham done some agency work turned up at the services near Coventry with about 15 pallets and was told to strip them down and take them in to stores, went and sat in the wagon and waited until they did it sorry but i dont get paids when im off with a bad back took them a few hours but hey i was on hours on the agency
The worst company I have ever worked for is RJ Jones Wellingborough.

Now that’s a coincidence, I can say exactly the same
But as an employee I’ve never left a good job, never started a bad job either
Anyone remember Ronnie Hennesey? Nuff said!
I used to run on traction out of Heysham. Ferrymasters, P&O and HMT were ok, but Maxi are a pile of ■■■!
Like " drop that trailer at Heysham" change of plan just short of Lancaster " take it to Stranraer" change of plan at Penrith " drop it at Holyhead and bobtail to Heysham"
the worst for me was the big green machine known as stobarts, just coz there was too much hanging about in canteen waiting for your vehicle to be ready then doing a local and then spending rest of your shift in canteen trying to get your hours in, i hate waiting glad im doing something completely differant
Keystone Distribution. Doing McDonalds resturant deliveries.
Can only say that the worst company I ever worked for was the AA’s stores division when they had the shops. Everybody below the supervisor was treated like dirt. The only saving grace was the security cheif who would every so often follow the stores lorries around the country in a canary yellow car. (Best entertainment ever) specially waking him up in the morning as he slept in the car and telling him we were leaving the truckstop or relay base. After that we did’nt see him for a few days.
Im surprised that there was only one complaint about stobart. I hear people moaning all the time about them. Never worked for them but i would love to try to see whats it like
RAE logistics,Bromham house farm,dodgy portakabin.
