I miss proper uniforms you get in the UK.
At Swifts we had 3 pairs of trousers, 2 jackets, boots and 7 shirts.
At Fed ex we had countless stuff … 2 lined jackets, 1 top coat / anorak, 1 body warmer, 4 pairs of trousers (2 lined). 2 pairs of boots (DM’s, 6 long sleeved shirts and 6 short sleaved every year.
Tesco was similar.
TDG had the worst kit I ever wore, green with orange trim including jacket lapels, I looked like a coop milkman LOL.
Over here…
At St Ann’s I got a nice jacket at the start with my name embroidered on it, 2 polo shirts … that was it.
At Foodliner, I have 2 regular jackets, 1 summer jacket and one really good Carhartt jacket and 7 polo shirts every 2 years.
I don’t understand the polo shirt bit over here, in winter they do this strange thing putting short sleeved shirts over long sleeved ones so they keep warm but still have the company name showing … I will not do this as I refuse to look like a twonk.
Come now Pat, what’s wrong with the colonials dress code ■■?

Seen people at Welford Road with the Tigers shirt on over a hoody. Same kind of thinking I reckon.
Best dressed drivers - Almost every Turks & Iranian drivers! always keep smart appearance on driving work like thier best sunday clothes - go to church or Mosque!
Typical of Turks - Thick moustaches, smart trousers, smart point loafers shoes, smart check shirts with blazer jackets

Pulled a tipper for 11 years grain, feed, coal, sand&gravel etc and the gaffer could never get his head round how i could come back on a friday as clean as i left monday. Personally i just can’t stand looking or feeling grubby and dirty
I think my uniform looks smart , i work for dairy crest we get plenty of shirts, trousers with hi viz bands at bottom of leg , fleeces , waterproofs and unlimitted vests so got no exuses to not look smart, mind you the trousers look like the local bin mens so when i walk the dog people bring there bins out to me , and my boots are allways polished cant stand dirty boots
in wisemans it all black, but get 2 pairs of trousers, 3 t-shirts, 1 thin jacket(but get ripped very easily if you walk past a cage and it gets slightly cought on it) and boots
but most of the guys in our yard have went out and bought our own boots, as we get given cheap 1’s, and our own trousers
theres been afew of use that have bought florescent jackets , ive had mine for years and it has ground in dirt and grease from when i used to do class 1 got dirty from changing trailers, often in the dark at night, but got a new 1 now lol

The new maritime strips pretty darned natty.Wish other firms would take a leaf out of their books.Even premier firms like Goldstar expect their people to turn out in duds that possess all the allure of beetroot sacks, hideous abrasive bog standard attire.
Maritime have played a blinder in the style stakes.Impeccable turnout.
You have got to be kidding. It’s uncomfortable, cheap, washes nasty and makes us look like distant relations to the green death. I hate it
Used to like wearing the old Stobarts proper shirt , much nicer and comfier to wear all day … plus looks tidy … my Jenkinson stuff was good too , all green , but looked good too. cant abide jeans /tracksuit &rigger boots combo ,just looks like you could’nt be arsed … first impression is everything !!!
i dont mind smart casual, but i do like the uniform we have at MVF , black cargo trousers, blue polo shirts, sweatshirt & fleece , with a choice of 2 hi viz waterproofs, as for boots, we’re allowed to take our pick from what the MVF branches have up £50 which is quite a varied choice & so much better than the cheap £10 per pair i’ve been issued with at other companies.
i do like to see smartly turned out drivers, i’ve even been told by a couple of employers That i was first to be considered for jobs i’ve got largly down the what i’ve worn during an interview, clean boots, clean cargo trousers & clean shortsleeve shirt, others have turned up in jeans, trainers & Tshirt & unshaven & no doubt have gone away to search for yet another driver vacancy they’ll fail to get & if that what an employer looks for then you can bet that’s what customers look for too.
The only thing i’d change with my uniform is to have a shortsleeve cotton shirt during the summer rather than the polo shirts which can get a bit sweaty & uncomfortable .
Spent years doing the Med area and had my own uniform March to Oct was company polo shirts with my own CLEAN neutral colours shorts and in from Oct to March was company polo shirts with CLEAN jeans. When weekended I would wear my own t-shirts also clean and ironed. Footwear varied in the spring/summer it was usually a smart pair of flipflops or clean trainers, in the autumn/winter it was either a pair of chelsea boots or trainers.
Very rarely got involved with the load so safety boots only as and when. I think the key is for clothes to be smart and clean
