his newest truck was an s reg daf 55 which was manky, he also had 2 merc 7.5 tonners which probably wernt road legal if that.
but it was worse because the office staff would make stupid runs because they have soo many orders in, i got 50 drops on my 22nd birthday and i phoned in and asked for some help because i knew that somebody was finishing up close to me and i got told to get on with the job then proceeded to have a bollocking at me when i got back because i got back at half 7 at night form a half 5 start in the morning.
also were more than likely overweight with every run, i remember i got sent out in a 3.5ton iveco eurocargo with 2 cages of gas for pubs, (eg 90 cannisters)
i dont have my adr
thats defo overweight
i left 2 days after my 22nd birthday because the owner decided to shout at me for no reason so told him where to stick his poxy job, didnt pay very well either.
C**** Bros rude told to pull card to tip etc
LCH generators Cov yard staff as thick as pig slurry (yes i know )
Calor Stoney Stanton broke down 5 times in 8 days
Removed name - cannot allow an allegation like this to name a company on here- Rikki
I once worked on containers in Southampton, it lasted 1 day I had a crap unit with a busted seat, the interior was a real [zb] pit, warning lights lit up the cab like a Christmas tree, and I never did get paid! That was 10 years ago, the company is still going with maroon coloured units
hanson:
the worse one for me was a company in mansfield doing european work with fridges £25 running money to spain and back and when you got back you could never get paid and when you did it was with a check.
Was the surname a meat from a pig?
I`ve heard so many stories about him its unreal
What - Trotter
You’re right - they’re notorious. Been featured on TV a few times
yes it was i would think all what you have heard is true i seen have the office girl in tears one day because she hadnt done the paperwork correct
When I was on the agency, I was banned from the site of a sugar refiners for refusing to take out a defective wagon, that their own fitter agreed was defective…they said I was after driving one of their new Scanias…what they didn’t realise is the wagon I drove more regularly was quite a bit older than the one I refused (and more legal)
The company I started with was one. I just passed my class one (14 years ago) two weeks before and got a job with a local haulage firm in OLD STRATFORD
I was given the dog, a Seddon Atkinson twin turbo. The windscreen was nearly falling out due to rot, no night heater and the cab heater didn’t work. They sent me out all week even though I was on days, so I didn’t have a sleeping bag or a change of clothes.
I nearly froze to death in Warrington when the night temp got down to about -6 dec C, couldn’t sleep as I was worried I would die of hypothermia…
Then there was an International haulage firm based in Wavendon MK.
I blew a inner tyre on the tractor and called the boss. He said “that will be OK, it’s on the inside so you can drive it back without anyone noticing” I had to really argue before he sent a tyre fitter out to change it.
Then there was the time the tax ran out. I told him it was out and he said" yeah I know, that’s OK it’s been applied for"!! That was the final straw.
They are gone now, so I can name them Taylor Barnard in Leeds, the transport manager was a woman who was the most arrogant ■■■■■ I have ever come across, 10 drivers quit in one week because of her.
This is the company whos general manager told us that if we brought back a PCV instead of pallets (blue) if they were available we would be sacked.
And the trucks looked good on the outside but were underpowered crap.
Rob K:
I’m surprised a certain Ossett based member hasn’t spoken up about a certain Low Moor based company yet !!
That wouldn’t be a company with white trailers with a red stripe on them would it because if it is then they are on my list of couldn’t wait to get out of there haulage firms.
