Recently i parked overnight at the Iowa 80 truckstop at Walcot in Iowa. I was so amazed that i took some photos inside it. The truckstops in America are very good in general anyway and when you first see them after spending your career driving in the UK they seem quite unbelievable. Some of the drivers over here still find things to complain about of course but i supose it all depends on what you are used to. They have never seen Alconbury or Chesterfield truckstop and never had a shower in a Moto services, Lol.
All the normal truckstops here have huge parking areas which are either clean concrete of tarmac and parking is totally free. Also at most truckstops coffee is free with a 50gal fuel purchase and so are showers which are in private shower rooms which are cleaned between each customer and come complete with freshly laundered towels and complimentary soap bars.
Most places have a waitress staffed restaurant and a deli bar as well as a shop and most truckstops also have a coin operated launderette.
Also many have truckwashes and repair shops attached to them.
The Iowa 80 is part of the TA chain of travel centres but the main thing that makes it different is the size of it. If you have to park at the far end of the truckpark you have a brisk walk just to get back to the buildings! It has all the things mentioned above but as well as those it has a chrome shop which is as big as a super market and has a three actual trucks inside it including one with full size trailer. There is a counter where accessories can be ordered and custom made and then fitted in the workshop.
If you have any spare time there is a free cinema and also on site an indoor truck museum.

I’m trying to order one of those rubber Duck hood ornaments, the missus is getting me it for crimbo, they don’t deliver to Canada though so may just have to go there again, can see it being a costly exercise

It’s probably a new programme but with British commie government ‘adjusted’ figures to convince us all over here that the yank government is supporting the global warming taxation scam which ours is running over here.
