dozy:
It’s not there driver agency , it’s actually doing holiday relief for stobarts
Yeah thats what used to be their driver support services which was rumoured to have closed because noises were made about the legality of having a driver drive to a local depot, get in a van then drive to another one and do a 15hr shift then drive home.
So its not their DSS as that no longer exists on paper but he is being expected to work the same as the DSS team used to.

My apologies I thought you were on about there latest agency ( logistics people ) , yes by the sound of it it’s the same as the dss drivers they had years ago , I’m not sure why he didn’t say no when the mention of van, Carlisle , Dagenham etc came up

Travelling in a non-tachograph company vehicle from or returning to your normal place of work is other work and should be recorded as such on your records. Commuting between your home and your normal place of work in your own time is not work and is part of your daily or weekly rest.
Am I the only one who thinks it should be?

I really don’t understand why dozy is still at Stobart.
Tesco won’t have him back. Also for all the ■■■■■ that Stobarts attracts (with an open bag of peanuts, surprised contra doesn’t work there) they pay is apparently decent. My folks asked me why I didn’t try for a job there. My answer included See You Next Tuesday.

But the problem with that is that people have different commuting times, so someone who lives 30 miles from the depot wouldn’t be available to work for as many hours as someone who lives just round the corner.

Just a bit of extra pay or something then. I can’t complain, it’s 15 minutes to my current job and most of that time is spent sitting at traffic lights. But for jobs where you’re travelling almost an hour…
