Morning All
In my current job they are thinking of changing our shift pattern to a 4on 4off which is better than what we are already on, my question to those that know is this
I would like to work for an agency working extra ■■■■■ on some of my days off(i have spoken with my manager about it & he’s ok with it) how many times can i work an extra 2 days every time as every 6 days i will still be having a 45 off, would it be 2 days & then after my next 4 one day, i won’t be working anywhere near 60 hours each week as my shifts in my job tend to be around 7-9 hours. Thanks
Basically 6 on 2 off can work for upto around 11 weeks, before needing at least 69 hours off that crosses Sunday midnight
The reason is each fixed week (0000 Mon - 2400 sun) needs a weekly rest attached to it, by having a rolling week then you end up skipping a fixed week with the weekly rests. But by working 4, 1 off 2 on 1 off, at the right time then that’d keep it right anyway!
So so long as you’re ok on all the other limits you could always do 2 days on the agy, just keep track of what fixed week your weekly rest is used in and make sure every fixed week has a weekly rest in it.
A weekly rest that crosses midnight Sunday can be used in either fixed weeks it falls in but not both
Thanks Steviboy that was exactly what i was looking for, i probably won’t do 2 extra shifts all the time as its more about having some extra spending money during school holidays & at Xmas, as my kids are now getting expensive!!

No worries, tell me about it!
It might be legal to work elsewhere but check your works contract first.
Many don’t allow you to work elsewhere.
Mine didn’t when I was on 4 on 4 off.
Ah forget what I said.
Just see that your manager is ok with it.
Fill your boots fella.
