Working Patterns and Rest Periods

So I see quite a lot of places saying that drivers work 6 days 1 week then 5 the next and my assumption is that this runs on a 2 week cycle.

How does this work out for weekly rest periods as surely there needs to be a compensation for the week in which you work 6 days?

thanks

Generally it works a little like this …
Finish 7pm fri then start 5am mon = 58 hours off
Finish 7pm sat then start 5am mon = 34 hours off so 11 to payback
Finish 7pm fri then start 5am mon = 58 hours off so 45 with 11 paid back plus 2 extra

makes sense now. perfect!

cheers

You are welcome

but watch out because if its 57 off and 32 off then the 57 is not enough to be 45 + 13

Payback does hot have to be paid back the following week but in full before sunday midnight at the end of the 3rd week following the reduction
payback is always done after the rest required so you cannot say a 58 off is 13 payback then 45 rest - it must be 45 then 13
