Working Nights and Days

First I would like to apologuise if this has already been covered but I have had a good trawl through the topics and could see anything.
I was told a few years ago by my then Transport Manager that you cannot mix nights and days in the same week but this problem has risen it’s ugly head with my current firm, the problem is we are a smallish outfit and cut backs over the last couple of years have left us with no transport manager and the transport superviser a fellow driver has been but back on the road leaving a young novice in the office to duty the drivers so on Monday I was asked if I could cover a run;
Mon 19:00 to 06:00
Tues 16:00 to 23:30
Wed 14:00 to 22:00
Thurs 10:00 to 18:30
Fri 08:00 to ?

The problem I have is was my former Transport Manager wrong can you do this providing you are having your legal rest or could I cop for a big fine if Mr Ministry gets hold of my cards.
Your advice much apreshiated…

Without going in to the morals of who can request / require the reduction of daily rest etc, I’m afraid that the shift pattern looks quite legal (well, after a number of cans of Stella - other beers are available, it does).

There is nothing, and never has been, anything in drivers hours rules that says you cannot work days and nights in the same week, provided you have legal rests between shifts. In fact, I seem to remember that as being pretty normal for fridge work, apart from us not getting legal rest anyway :smiley:
