i am looking to move to valencia area . i’ve heard of a few people that the spanish are crying out for english drivers because the spanish don’t want to come over here anymore.most of them seem to think there is a lot of reefer work to RDC’S in UK. I’M NOT GIVING UP YET…GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE !
Hi Pip,
Last year when I was out in Spain there was an English guy advertising for a Driver. Seems he was getting a second outfit and needed a driver. The advert was in the Costa Blanca News. There are other English language newspapers issued over there some of them free. The Costa Blanca News as a web site but not sure about the others. If you know anyone out there you could get them to look for you or send you the newspapers. They are usually weekly.
Regards
Westie
Alf is spot, dont even think about if you cannot look after youself for a good few years, many have tried and well gone home and most after less then a year.
Welcome to TruckNet UK, Porkifer.
Sorry, I can’t help any but I’m sure this has come up before, in this forum. Try a search (click on the search button at the top of every page), it might give you a few more pointers.
westie is right , people do advertise in the costa blanca news , and its on line , i look in it every week , this week some one was advertising for someone to drive for them , in javea area , do people honestly move to spain and not learn to speak spanish ?
thanks for ihe input guys. i will keep looking
Hi i have just read to are looking to move to the valencian, when you get there you will have one more problem to deal with they dont speak spainish they speak valenciano with is more differcult,it a mixture of spanish french latin, you will think spainish is hard you try that.
Although Valenciano is on the increase the majority of people still do not speak in the Valencia area and you will get along quite fine with just Spanish as you will in the Catalonian and Basque regions as well, of course now and then you will undoubteldy meet an ignoramus but that can happen anywhere.
Finding and keeping work without a working knowledge of the language will be difficult.
Be careful and wary of ad´s in English speaking newspapers as there are a lot of con merchants about.
