But take note the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.
i.e. the average Spanish companies view of tachograph legislation can be somewhat more liberal than what you are used to in the UK.
The wages tend to be made up of a low basic wage with the rest usually made up accordingto the amount of kilometers driven although some companies do pay by the day instead of by the kilometer.

Hello Vascoingles. I am looking for work anywhere between Valencia and Alicante
Heres a list of some companies in the Alicante, Murcia and Valencia areas.
Remember nearly 80% of Spanish transport consists of companies of 5 vehicles or less.
When compiling the list I have rightly or wrongly assumed that you are looking for International work.

You are assuming the people asking for information, that Vasco has kindly provided, don’t speak Spanish. They may well speak it like a native and therefore whether anyone at the companies speaks English or not wouldn’t come into it.

Supposing that anyone decided to go to live and/or work in a foreign country then surely the onus would be on them to learn the language ?
In most larger companies there will usually be someone who speaks English but whether or not they can understand your particular accent is another matter.
You can get by without learning the language but it just makes life a lot more difficult and can in many cases lead to misunderstandings.
i know of an english lad working for frio alicante. his names rastas (brian st john). skinny black rastafarian. he used to be on rh. i dont know if he`s fluent in spanish, maybe you could give them a go?

Last week I did a couple of days for a french agency(just too keep my hand in)and belive me nobody but nobody spoke english and thats the same story for all the companies I go to,in france and SPAIN learn the lingo, free advice from froggy

You might be wise to check out the date that this thread was started - since the heady days of 2004, the Spanish economy has nose dived and we are heading for 20% unemployment. The transport sector has been hit very badly with some very large companiies going under.
If you want to work here you will have to take what comes along - if anything.
What hombre says is correct Spanish haulage has been hit very hard with thousands going under.
Remember more than 80% of Spanish transport is/was small companies with less than 10 vehicles or owner drivers.
i see froggy you say that you did a few days work for a french agency to keep your hand in did you need the fimo test to be able to work for the agency .a few days a week is all that i will need when we move to france next month and do the driving agencys exsists all over france we will be in the poitou charentes region any help would be good cheers dudes

It could be worth your while working for an English company that delivers in that area, would you consider doing removals, there are many UK based firms that only go to the Alicante area and the money would be far better than you could earn from a Spanish firm…just a thought
