Living the dream
Salaried tramper.
62 hours including breaks last week.
44 hours including breaks the week before.
Swings and roundabouts really, it sort of evens itself out over the year so I’m happy with the hours and the money I get for them. Although if more cash was offered I wouldn’t exactly grumble but not actively looking elsewhere at the moment.
Odds and sods last week, on the skog this week, probably RM next week onwards.

Good luck to you - That’s what we all want I would have thought, but strangely employers suggest we don’t, so it’s not offered much. The hours I mean - the wages are medicre, but I’d put up with it for those shift patterns if it were all on a fixed shift I liked, such as 4pm-3am.
8.30 until 5.30 in an office, an hour for lunch. Usually three days in the office and the other two out and about.

Not boasting
i passed my class 1 1990 done general haulage, distance work, running bent, all the usual ■■■■ from that era some jobs could break ya so my present job and hours ( 7am - 6.30 ) for me really is living the dream doesn’t suit everyone but I like a social life so defo suits me
Average pay this neck of the woods is £8 hour class 1 so £27 grand for working 6 months of the year I can just about put up with
I keep a spreadsheet record of the hours I work (for calculating pay, working time, driving time and rest periods) so this thread prompted me to have a look at what I’ve actually done on average since the beginning of the calender year.
On average I’ve worked just over 60 hours a week. The most I’ve done is 78 hours and the least is 44 hours. This includes most weekends and spread 5 days / 6 days alternating weeks. For this I’ve averaged £757 a week including 12 days holiday. I get home every night starting between 04.00 and 06.00.
I consider myself to be working long and unsociable hours but at least I get home every night which is good for me. The work is ok and I do it purely for the money.
24 hours worked in the two days I work per week.
