Working holiday pay out?

Hope someone can help me working holiday pay out never really been involved in it as always been self employed.

Left a company that worked for before start of tax year and I no they work it from April as had to take all last year’s holidays from last year.

So from start of tax year till last 12Oct was entitled to statutory 28days and have used none of them

Reason I ask is revived my last week’s pay check and something don’t appear right by long way but before I go upsetting people want to make sure am correct

Many thanks

A company I applied to work for ran there holidays from October - October. Some run Jan to Jan. Each company is different.

I no company’s differ but from me having to use all last year’s holidays by end of March I presume it restarted from April

If you have taken zero days holiday this year and your entitlement started in April, it sounds like you should have about half your yearly entitlement owing to you.

Hope that helps! and while not wanting to be a grammar/spelling git, and just trying to help you make your posts more readable.

If you KNOW, that the way to spell KNOW, is not “no”, but KNOW. It would help the rest of us KNOW what you’re talking about!

How do you work out that you’re entitled to 28 days holiday from April to October, holiday entitlement is accrued over the period of 12 months so you’re entitled to about 7/12ths of the 28 days, that’s about 16½ days if half days count, I’m not sure.

You’re only entitled to the full 5.6 weeks statutory holiday if you work for the company for the full 12 months, otherwise everyone would be changing jobs every month

Sorry predictive text on phone when had few sherbets don’t mix.

I thought it was around 15days also

Much appreciated I presume you would expect to receive these in your last pay check…

Assuming that they were given notice of your leaving I’d expect the holiday entitlement to be paid with the last weeks pay, if it wasn’t I’d phone and ask why the holiday pay wasn’t paid.

There you go, everything you need to know, 10 seconds on google

£290 more than my last working weeks wages should of been without any holiday pay.

Am presuming the extra 290 on top of my normall wage is what they have put on as holiday pay which if is the case they are very short on my holiday pay.

from start of tax year to end of mid oct is not twelve month your not due 28 days stat hols :bulb:

You should also be aware that holiday pay is at the rate for your basic hours usually (especially when you leave). And of course you get taxed on it. Even so - £270 is pretty low.

16 days at £64 per day is £1024. Less the 20% for the government leaves at least £800

Ours run September to September but we have until Christmas to take them.
