Does anybody work for Coca Cola? Or done so in the past?
Went round to a few firms today ,and either got an application form or handed in my CV.
Coca Cola , TNT ,Argos ,Greggs and Warburtons …all in Enfield . Dont know what the pay is like in any of these places ,except for CC which I saw advertised on the jobcentreplus website (£22K for 7.5 ton work).Says you will be expected to do around 30 drops per day.
Have signed on with Manpower ,but really looking for a fulltime job .TBH would be gutted at all the money I have spent getting my Class 2 and 1 (eventually) to end up driving a 7.5 tonner ,but regular ,guaranteed work is the most important thing at the moment, rather than holding out for a Class 2 job that going by what I have seen so far, doesnt mean I would be earning a lot more.
,When they advertised for drivers at Wakefield a couple of years ago I applied. The contract was £22,000 for driving a 26 tonner, they have rear steer Stralis. It seems like a lot of firms the new contracts are not as good as the old ones.
They are a good firm to work for,but drivers who have worked there a while complain that the number of drops they have to do keeps getting bigger. I didn’t get the job as I didn’t have two years experience which was required at the time.
However I did work there through an agency for a couple of weeks before Christmas delivering to Tesco’s and it seemed a good set up.
Worked at Wakefield coca cola recently via agency. There running a small fleet of artics doing cash and carry’s mainly. Good easy CLEAN work but it was a shift rate so they could shaft you with a couple of long days.
The rest of the fleet were 7.5t or class 2 and most were back in the yard by 3 or 4 on an afternoon having started at 6 and they were doing all the “outlets” and other small drops.
Cheers guys , dont sound TOO bad .Well ,thats not really true .Worked for the Post Office for 20 years ! Leaving there and joining the real world EVERY other job looks bad
