Hi daidap, i thought the cpc here covered all of Europe after all its a european directiveYou’d think, but this is the French we are talking about here!
Type the letters FIMO and FCO into the search facility at the top of the forum page and have a look at the results.I have no doubt our dCPC is valid in France whether we’re living there or just delivering there, but from what I read it seems the froggy companies like their own.
Really?
Never had a problem with my UK issued DCPC. As long as you’ve got the Driver Qualification Card you’ll have no problems here in France working for a French company.
BTW there are two firms under the Mesguen name. The one you already mentioned based in St Pol with the green and white trailers and the second, J H Mesguen, which is probably the bigger of the two and runs a fleet of red Volvos: www.mesguen.fr AFAIK they don’t speak English at the latter firm.

If you want a job with a froggy company then I believe you’ll have to do the froggy dCPC, which I’m told is a ■■■■ sight trickier than ours.Best of luck tho.
Eh monsieur ROAST BEEF be a bit more polite s’il vous plait, merci
Don’t you just love it when uninformed people come up with total crap that they have read on the toilet wall

The UK DCPC is valid here in France, there are a quite a lot of British expats that have moved here and that are working for French companies, with their UK licences and with their UK DCPC.
Hi guys
Would anyone of you know of any British company that run onto the continent and they have left hook lorries?
Or any continental company that also operates in the UK, runs onto the continent but their offices are located in the UK, and have left hook lorries?
I basically would want to drive on the continent but still contribute to the UK’s National pension scheme.
Thanks

Do you have something against RHD?!
nothing against RHD, just thought it would have been much easier having a unit with a LHD since I wanted to mostly work on the continent.

Due to the road layouts, its much easier driving a RHD in most European countries than it is driving a LHD truck in the UK, with all the curved approaches to roundabouts, give way signs etc etc.
