With all the bad pr around Mike Ashley and Sports Direct, fines out of a basic nmw shift etc, there’s been some horror stories on lbc and the like about people being forced self employed to get around nmw etc.
Then I go to the toilet at a job in Hounslow to see a sign on the door saying no smoking or a £50 fine. These people need to be on nearly £130 a day if the nmw rules aren’t broken. I’m all for discipline but not financial penalties unless it’s suspension.
We all know the workers rights are statute British law, so my question is do people honestly feels we have workers rights inside the union?

We’ve not had ‘workers’ rights since Europhile Thatcher effectively removed the right to strike in the form of secondary action. That done long after we joined the EEC/EU.In addition to which we’ve got zb wit Socialists like Corbyn and most of the Union movement, thinking that it’s a good thing to flood the labour market with cheap labour from low wage expectation countries who aren’t known for their Union sympathies.
