Not sure if this will help anyone looking for a start, but I was in Middlesbrough today, driving along the A66 from Teesport towards Middlesbrough Centre and I saw a firm called David Fox Transport with a big sign saying “Weekend and part time HGV 1 drivers required on a regular basis, please call in or call 01642 469552”.
No idea who they are but might be worth a look.
Their fleet and website looks quite good actually, would definitely be worth a try I think… shame they’re not in my area!
That sign has been up for months maybe a year or so mate , I wonder if they still taking on? They got few depots I think mainly Daf units they have odd MAN Reno aswell I think
Ive been doing agency work for them for last month or so 
On first day was handed keys to a 12 plate which was still having livery put on to it then a 61 plate 
, rest of trucks decent, lads are great and helpful, the work is varied from adsa rdc work to flat bed with steel I have only stopped as not enough hrs tramping 
You have nothing to loose in giving them a ring they dont bite .
