Thought I’d put the feelers out on here and see if anyone is local and has any “insider knowledge” to share. I’ve had my class 2 licence since back in October but have yet to really make use of it….
To be honest I’ve been a little nervous of jumping in head first and making the switch but I’m starting to feel like if I don’t make the move soon it will almost be as if I’m starting from scratch again.
I’m put off by agencies simply because I don’t really want dropping in at the deep end and would prefer a decent introduction before I’m let loose alone. Anyway, help, guidance and of course any info regarding local work is most appreciated

Not quite Stockport …but gxo/ xpo always advertising outside there there building in Trafford park. On the Whitbread / premiere inn contract.
Not fully sure but think it’s 4 on 4 off rota.
Also akw Trafford park always. Advertising doing multidrop work around Manchester area
This is the correct answer pal. Stanley actually got me a job here almost 7 months ago and I can say without question it’s the best Class 2 job around.

What about the Airport? Seen plenty of ads for work there
yes, cargo center has a high turn over of drivers as you’d expect, firms on the airport and surrounding Wythenshawe (roundthorn estese) always have ads up for day/night drivers. Its a little late in the season i think to be able to get onto one of the catering contracts (dnata(alpha)/newest)

Blimey there’s a blast from the past.One of my earliest agency gigs post licence aquisition.Made a few rookie errors in them thur Pennine hills on their behalf Good to know they’re still going…in some capacity.‘Kinaxia’ give me strength.

Don’t just count on Trilogy, you’ve also got Select and UCH down on the argo center, like Trilogy you’ve also got NG Transport and Circle Express on Roundthorn, providing you can give 5 years working background and a basic DBS check any of these companies will employ you in a heart beat even as a new pass.
Edit, don’t forget about Sims near parswood, Kens always got ads up online too.
Edit 2, David Bratt has ads up all the time too, down by morrisons in chedle health

Defo sounds like a plan tommymanc! I actually know Marc who owns select at the airport… always felt arkward asking there tho tbh because I feel I’d have a certain loyalty to them if I went and the mission over the next few years is to step up the wage growth asap. I’ve seen it more and more over the last few years the longer you stay somewhere the greater the degree of shafting on wage growth u tend to get. Seems like jumping around at least until settled maximises the earning potential
