Yes ha ha, you’re right. But I wouldn’t dream of asking as I’m sure that when he retires, there’s nothing more he would like more than to chop down the tree that is growing between the chassis rails, move it a bit closer to his home, then wake every morning fresh and raring to go, then after a blast on the Norton, continue restoring this fine Wagon to its former glory. Complete to the last detail, even the swing between the seats to keep the kids amused. Then possibly attending a future Woodhead Run.

When he retires,he’s seventy years old and just done hid dcpc, don’t think he will ever retire,he’s got a yard full of old motors,I keep on at him to do something with his ex fillingham ERF a series but his only love are his bikes,

Alan,am I right in thinking Fillinghams had a ERF 8 wheel tipper working out of Butlers Quarry?

No consideration, some folks! How on earth do you expect a chap of my advanced years to haul himself and camera over to Dukinfield at that unearthly hour? The border crossing at Hazel Grove doesn’t open until 0900 on a Sunday.

May see you on Woodhead somewhere then Casey.

You’ll see him somewhere ,trying to come via the back door may be !

Or even through the back window.

Again!

But will John recognise the heavily-disguised French Photographic Unit?

We’ll be up Woodhead somewhere!
